    I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Hermess Hotel and would not stay here again. On 23 August 2026 at around 11:00am, I was checking out and went to the counter to report an issue. Unfortunately, I had accidentally left my hotel key card in the room. I explained this to the staff, but instead of simply helping me access my room, I was told that the staff could not open the door for me and that I had to pay $20 for a new card. I found this extremely unreasonable. In every other hotel I have stayed at, staff would assist a guest who accidentally left the key card in the room, especially during check-out. What made the situation even worse was that I was actually at the counter to report a serious safety issue. While sleeping, two pieces of wall laminate fell onto my head, waking me up because of the pain. When I inspected the wall, I discovered that the laminate appeared to have been attached using Scotch tape, which is completely unacceptable for a hotel room. After I showed the staff the photographs of the fallen laminate and explained what had happened, the staff then agreed to open the room so I could retrieve my key card and get back my $50 deposit. I am very unhappy with the way this matter was handled. A hotel should prioritise guest safety and proper customer service, rather than making a guest pay $20 simply because they accidentally left their key card in the room. The fact that a wall laminate fell onto my head while I was sleeping is particularly concerning. This could have resulted in a much more serious injury. Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this hotel and I will not stay here again.
