    It was a splurge for me but absolutely incredible stay! I was so lucky that they upgraded my city view room to river view. Everything was impeccable, from the cleanliness, amenities, service, and of course the view! I loved the bathroom with the tub too which i soaked in every night. I chose the japanese breakfast which tasted amazing, i even ask the staff where to get the white miso that they used for their soup, it was that good! 1 thing is that maybe the chef can consider switching up the menu as I had the japanese breakfast 2 mornings in a row and was served basically the same thing with minor differences. (Same salmon, chicken, tamago, vege) maybe use a different fish? But everything was really good and i especially appreciated the lovely english speaking Konno-san (i hope i spelled it right), who recommended me the white miso, and also saw me off into the taxi on my last day. Also the hotel is very very aesthetic and i had the chance to peek into the rooms on the first floor (with permission of course) . 10 out of 10 would stay there again!

    The room blends traditional Japanese elements with modern aesthetics, and many of the decorations are designer pieces—even the light switches. Each room also has its own theme paired with a unique artwork, making the space truly memorable. What stood out even more were the warm and thoughtful staff, who made the stay especially delightful. Highly recommended this hotel to experience their design and kindness staff

    Genuine gem in Kyoto. I came to town to specifically stay at this property. The Design and all the little details are wonderful- the food delis is and the staff warm and attentive. I’m glad I was able to book here

    Love everything of Genji hotel - only downside is the door isn’t sound proof, could hear people chatting loudly at the corridor.
