Traveling to Kyoto this was a great choice. Location is convenient and central in the city. The room is extremely comfortable with great amenities. The bath in particular was well worth the stay too

The location is perfect. The hotel is itself very clean. We had a comfortable stay.

     Redigerat för en månad sedan June 2024 Grate location, and clean rooms with all you need, grate room service, all necessary amination that you might need, the only less nice thing were the breakfast buffe same type of food every day and not so many variations to choose in between, and the front dest limitation to speak English, please have some type of translation app att all time, otherwise great service and very nice people. Update : second visit -June 2026 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was my second stay at Keio Prelia Hotel Kyoto Karasuma Gojo, and I chose to return because of my positive experience two years ago. Once again, the hotel offered excellent value, comfort, and convenience, and overall I would still happily stay here again. The room was clean, comfortable, and consistent with my previous visit, which was reassuring. Even after two years, the standard has been well maintained. The beds were comfortable, the amenities were well provided, and the overall room setup worked very well for our family. As someone quite sensitive to cleanliness (and traveling with a child who has allergies and asthma), I felt at ease in the room without needing to do additional cleaning myself. The staff were consistently kind, polite, and helpful throughout our stay, and the level of hospitality is something Japan continues to do exceptionally well. There were, however, a few small points worth sharing as constructive feedback. On one occasion, the bathroom was not fully cleaned after housekeeping (some hair and water marks remained). When I mentioned this at reception, the issue was escalated to management. The manager and staff were very apologetic and professional, which I appreciated, although I personally felt a bit uncomfortable as I had only intended to give feedback rather than create concern. In another instance, there was an unpleasant odor coming from a shower curtain in one of the rooms. We chose to resolve this ourselves rather than raise it again, as we did not want to cause further inconvenience. It seemed like an isolated issue rather than a general standard. (In the second room we har 2 rooms booking). I also noticed a change compared to my previous stay regarding coin laundry support. Previously, the hotel was able to exchange cash into 100 yen coins for the laundry machines, but this was no longer available during this visit. I was advised to try nearby shops, but they were also unable to help. In the end, I was able to use my IC card, which worked well. This is helpful to know for future guests—if you don’t have coins, using an IC card is a convenient alternative. I would suggest that having a coin exchange machine on-site would make the laundry process easier for international travelers, as it was something available during my previous stay and in other hotels. Despite these small points, my overall experience was very positive. The hotel remains clean, comfortable, and excellent value for money, with great staff and reliable service. I would definitely stay here again in the future and appreciate the hospitality provided.

"Extremely disappointing stay – Hidden fees, poor service, and language barriers"I strongly advise international travelers and families against staying at Keio Prelia. We had a highly frustrating experience from start to finish.Hidden Fees: We booked a twin bedroom via Agoda, which explicitly stated that kids stay free. However, the hotel forced us to pay an extra ¥3,500 per night for my daughter (¥14,000 total for 4 nights) with zero flexibility.Poor Service & Communication: The staff have very poor English communication skills. They stare coldly at their iPads and offer no hospitality. When asked how to get a taxi to Kyoto Station, they were unhelpful and simply warned us that the hotel would charge extra booking fees. Staff in the kitchen section were particularly unfriendly. The management needs to send staff to English classes or recruit English-speaking personnel for international service.Overrated Breakfast: The breakfast buffet is incredibly poor with no variety day to day, despite being advertised as one of the best in town. It is absolutely not worth the money.Facilities & Location: There is no private family onsen, forcing families into the public bath instead. Additionally, the location is a long walk (over 10 minutes) to the nearest stations, making sightseeing inconvenient with luggage.This hotel is completely overpriced, unwelcoming to international guests, and not recommended.
