    I browsed more or less every available accommodation on the island and selected Yakushima Sanso. All the while it felt a little pricey, we were really satisfied with the selection. Yes, the hotel hasn't seen major renovations but that's Japan. Why fix something that isn't broken. We didn't visit the restaurant but enjoyed the onsen every night and it was like the rooms - old Japanese style. A really nice experience for me and the kids traveling with me.

    Beautiful Ryokan situated by the side of the river. But yakushima is very difficult to go around without a car. So this location relies heavily on bus timings which comes once every hour. Besides there's no car rental places nearby. The laundry a s dryer doesn't dry the clothes well either. But it's situated nearby good eateries across the river

    登山を目的にしている人たちにとっては、本当にベスト宿だとおもう。大浴場があり、登山口のバス停までもかなり近い。スーパーまで徒歩20分ほどかかるが、簡単な軽食ならsiibaというお店で賄える。ただしフロントやエレベーターに貼ってあるバス運行状況の情報は古いので要注意！！これを当てにして計画すると、バスが来ないということが、起こり得る。また勤務しているスタッフも、情報アップデートされていない様子だった。自分で調べて、計画をつくった方がよい。
