You do get what you pay for, I get it. But honestly, not the best location. The nearest station is a 10 minutes walk. And yes, all the places are accessible by train but after a whole day of exploring and with luggages at the end of the day, you don't feel good walking 1o minutes just to get back to the hotel. The area is good and all but the rooms are thin, the staff are hardly ever seen on sight, if you only need place to crash, I get it but there's hardly enough space to keep your luggage. The bedsheets had a lot of hair and blood marks on it. It wasn't the best experience

This is likely the most affordable private room with a bed in the Taito area. It is a 20-minute walk from the JR or Metro Minami-Senju Station. Within a 3-minute walk, you can find a grocery store (My Basket, an Aeon subsidiary) and convenience stores. There is also a natural hot spring nearby (550 JPY/ adult). Amenities Minimalist Setup: You are provided with only one hand towel. You can ask front desk staff for extras, but that is all you get. Bring Your Own: You must bring your own slippers, bottled water, toothbrush, chargers, and skincare products. Prepare everything you need in advance. Important Notes (Warnings) Cleanliness: The place is dusty throughout. If you suffer from house dust allergies, be sure to bring your medication. The Lobby: The common lobby area is in poor condition—it looks nothing like the photos on the official website. It is cluttered with large trash items and miscellaneous equipment. It seems understaffed. Essential Gear: Bringing a charger, extra towels, tissues, and a toothbrush is mandatory. Building Structure & Facilities Stairs: You must walk up and down narrow stairs between the 1st and 3rd floors. Shared Facilities: An electric kettle and microwave are available in the comon area. In-Room: The refrigerator in my room was old and did not work. The air conditioner was also outdated and not very effective. Soundproofing: The walls are thin. You can hear phone conversations, sneezing, coughing, and alarm clocks from neighboring rooms. If you are a light sleeper, earplugs are essential. Since many guests are international tourists, young people, or night owls, it can be difficult to sleep. Pricing & Logistics Kangaroo Hotel: There is a Main Building and a "Side-B." The pricing and room interiors are essentially the same. Comfort Variability: Because the walls are thin, your comfort level depends heavily on the manners of the guests staying next to you. This is unfortunately unavoidable at this price point. ■The Good Points Bathtub: Aside from the shared shower rooms, there is one room with a bathtub. Being able to fill a tub with hot water is a great feature of this hotel. Library: The lobby has a nice collection of literature and essay books. Late Check-out: You can extend your check-out time from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM for an additional 500 JPY. ■Final Thoughts This is truly a place for "just sleeping." Considering the total cost, I am satisfied. While other reviewers may be harsh, this is an excellent value accommodation given the current rising costs of living. As long as you prepare and bring your own supplies before checking in, you will have a great time. Enjoy your trip!

pros: well lit room. cold ac. if you plan to visit asakusa area, this is good location. we took bus most of the time for ¥210/ride. there is vintage izakaya along the highway, which needs reservations. they have the best gyoza. many conbini around the area. cons: only 3 shower room for a room of 12 (or 24 pax). one w.c. for each floor. no free tea or water. no toiletries. not advisable for weak knees. side b - when we checked in there was no space in lobby to hang around.

This hostel is ok. It’s on a bus line so easy access to transportation. A bit of a walk from subway line. Does not have an elevator so a bit of a climb to your room with a suitcase. I had a single bed which was ok and a small fridge in the room. The shower was not on the same floor as my room which I didn’t like. It was very basic but you get what you pay for.
