It's a unique, picturesque place to stay, with bars and restaurants (Inc. Ship In) in the street.

It was the perfect B&B even though we weren't expecting breakfast. We thought we were staying at a holiday home, but Paul was on site, and supplied everything you would want for a continental breakfast, and asked us for anything extra we desired, and would pick it up during the day.

The only thing I can think of is, it would be good to have a bar fridge in your room, even though you have all the fridge space you need in the kitchen on the second floor.

Stunning! We didn’t want to leave!

We chose to stay in the area of Stonehaven mainly to visit the Dunnottar Castle, which was amazing, but we experienced much more than that during our stay here. Shorehead Guesthouse is beautiful and in a fantastic location, right on the little harbour. Our host, Paul is friendly and offered suggestions for dining and adventures in the area. The breakfast was great, we helped ourselves to an array of quality food and beverages and Paul was on hand for anything we required. The view from the dining/living room was stunning.

Location was superb, it was a well appointed room with a very comfortable bed, breakfast was lovely as was the host.

Warm and welcoming home right by the water.

Shorehead guesthouse is in a stunning location in Stonehaven right across from the bay and next to at several restaurant/pubs and the trailhead to Dunnottar Castle. Our room and en suite bathroom were very clean and comfortable, but the most notable feature here was the full living room/breakfast room and the extensive help yourself breakfast complete with bakery bread and French press. Paul, our host, was on-site and extremely accomodating and helpful.

Honestly I can't think of any drawbacks except that I wish we could have stayed longer.

Delightful stay in Stonehaven

The warmth and hospitality of the owner makes this guest house an exceptional place to stay, the setting right on the harbour is lovely, parking was no problem, room was small double, very comfortable shower was excellent,toiletries and large fluffy towels a treat. The availability of a very well stocked kitchen and a comfortable lounge/dining area for guests an added bonus and self serve continental breakfast with lots to choose from was appreciated. Would recommend without hesitation.

Our travel companions found their room quite dark and unable to open bathroom door fully due to proximity of bed, but enjoyed every other aspect of the stay.

Don’t hesitate had a brilliant stay over3 nights

Was exactly as described very luxurious furnishings and so comfortable bed. Paul was an excellent host and I loved the setup for buffet breakfast.

I have no issues in fact I’ve already booked my family in for an overnight stay. That in itself speaks volumes

It was very clean. There were locks on the doors and windows, but you could still open the windows. I had a fabulous view of the harbor.

Perfect location and Paul made us very welcome . Although they are reasonably new owners they have already started well and we think they will go from strength to strength

As it’s a very old building I’m sure there are restrictions to what can be done which meant the bathroom was very small however the fittings looked new and worked well

This magical and delightful stop was one of the highlights of our tour of Scotland.

The location of this quaint and comfortable stay was difficult to leave. Our room was well maintained and comfortable with a lovely offering of treats to go with our coffee or tea. Upstairs the kitchen area provided even more offerings for breakfast and a lovely dining room and sitting room. Our host was readily available and helpful as well. Above all it is the location that feels like a step back in time to quieter and more peaceful times that creates a serene stay at this wonderful establishment.

Everything! Highlights being: excellent shower, best possible location, self service breakfast ( you just walk into the kitchen and take whatever you want from fridge/ shelves, anytime), and an assorted tray of local delicacies in your room! Paul is a great host.

Wonderful property. Our room was superb, pristine and comfortable. And pretty quiet, considering it was facing the street. The location can't be beaten.The continental self-service breakfast from the kitchen provided plenty of options. Paul was a good host, congenial yet not omnipresent. Nice walk to Dunnotar Castle.

Shorehead Guesthouse was in the perfect location on Stonehaven Harbor. Paul was very helpful and gracious. Our room was lovely. Breakfast was basically a do it yourself operation in a very well equipped kitchen. We truly enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it.
