The staff were professional and nobody bothered me when I sneaked a coffee from the restaurant back to my room.
The fact that I had to sneak a coffee back to my room. I would have liked a kettle to make a drink.

Central location.
Full of character hotel which hasn’t been over-modernised. By that I mean it’s clean and very comfortable, but retains things like the windows opening, warm without being oppressively hot with fan noise etc.
The staff were delightful and helpful.
The mattress on the bed was the best I have stayed on in months of travelling.
A very central location.
Quiet at night.
Very dog friendly.
Parking just outside, and was free on a Sunday.
The local town was buzzing with Sunday afternoon and early evening life, there was even a noisy English punk-type band playing outside a bar. Not my taste ( or the dogs) but fun to watch the local ravers!
The platter of cheeses and hams I had for supper at the hotel was delicious and excellent value.
Very convenient for travel to Calais from Mont Blanc Tunnel.

Breakfast is satisfactory. Location is fantastic. The receptionists are good.
