    This hotel does not have any major issues, but it does have several small flaws that affected our overall experience. The electronic curtains make a noticeable sound, which can be disruptive when trying to sleep. It is not very loud, but ideally there should be no noise at all. The shower controls are also quite stiff and difficult to adjust. Additionally, there is no convenient place to hang or place clothing while showering. The LED lighting inside the wardrobe appeared loose and looked as though it might fall off, as the adhesive did not seem strong enough. We chose this hotel and paid a higher rate specifically for the better view. Since we were paying above the average room rate, we naturally had higher expectations. While the staff were polite, friendly, and helpful. On a positive note, Room is extremely clean, the bed was very comfortable, and we appreciated the staff's efforts throughout our stay. Thank you. 🙂

    The Hotel walkways and inside the room is too dark. My room is haunted and also the walkways to the room is very dark.

    Guangzhou Elegant Hotel is self-rated 5-star but falls short of international 5-star standards. The lack of refinement is obvious and it feels like a 3-star hotel in a 5-star location. The location in the heart of Zhujiang New Town is exceptional and possibly the best in Guangzhou, with uninterrupted views of the river, Canton Tower, and other attractions. It's within minutes of major landmarks, shopping, dining, and entertainment. The rooms had amazing views, but not appropriately appointed for a 5-star hotel. Mediocre furnishings showed clear wear and tear. The carpet at the end of the bed was heavily stained and dirty, and there was significant mold in the shower. The exterior windows were dirty which interrupted the otherwise beatiful views. The hotel lobby is unimpressive. A small, cramped area with low ceilings on level 17. Staff were warm and professional but struggled with basic English, with the exception of one person per shift. The breakfast was very disappointing with minimal options and poor quality food, stale breads and pastries, very limited fruit selection and very limited beverages. The Wi-Fi is too slow for even basic apps or browsing, and they don't enforce the non-smoking policy on non-smoking floors. The entire hotel smells of cigarettes. Overall, this establishment caters to locals. It provides a fantastic location but its facilities and amenities don't meet typical 5-star standards. It doesn't offer value for money.
