    Great location and facilities The property offers excellent value in a convenient location, with strong facilities including a pool and a good bathroom setup. Housekeeping was reliable, and hot water was available. Overall cleanliness and staff service were good, though not quite flawless. Some of the rooms/ floors had cigarette smell. That was the only downside. Otherwise a solid choice for a well-rounded stay.

    If you plan to work using a VPN, be careful before booking this hotel. During my stay, VPN access did not work on the hotel’s internet, preventing me from accessing my usual work applications. Staff told me the VPN was unstable but were unable to resolve the issue. The same VPN worked fine through my eSIM, and I had no problems using it at Sofitel Foshan. Beyond the internet, my ratings are: Location: 4/5 — Convenient location. Cleanliness: 4/5 — Generally clean. Staff: 3/5 — Staff were okay, but help was limited. They did not seem very knowledgeable when I asked for assistance with restaurant bookings. Facilities: 2/5 — Old and quite outdated. The breakfast buffet was disappointing, and I would not recommend it. The location and cleanliness were positives, but the facilities, breakfast, and assistance fell short. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel to business travellers who depend on VPN access for work.
