One Sandringham - Boutique Seaside Home in Ilfracombe

Lovely house, lovely decor, great little extras like spare loo rolls etc. Also, kitchen was well equipped. The parking space opposite also made a big difference. Beds were excellent. Everything basically exactly as the listing promised. Really pleased overall.

Would've been good if a little more airflow possible - I don't think most windows were openable. Understandable as they are original sash windows, so perhaps a safety thing.. Also the sitting room was very pretty, but not actually very comfy to sit in (for 5).

We came as a family of 5, for 4 nights in August 2023 and had great time. The location is very central, and allows several hikes that we began at the apartment, without needing a car or bus. Everything is in a short walk distance: supermarkets (two of them), theater, restaurants, etc. The apartment, and particularly the kitchen, is very well equipped, beds are comfortable, and the design is in good taste. Despite being so central, the place was quiet. The stairs are very steep, but there is a nice dining room at the entrance level, so if you have difficulty in taking large suitcases, you can leave the suitcase in the dining room and take with you whatever you need for the night.

The property was small but perfectly formed and really quirky. It was a 10 minute walk to the Quay side and plenty of walks near by.

The property was a little difficult if you struggle with steep steps.

The house itself is beautiful. The owners have really made the most of presenting every room to the highest standards. The house's décor is really nice. All rooms are really clean and I felt very comfortable and at home. There's lots of nice touches. Even though dogs are welcome you wouldn't know, there's no traces or smells. Plenty of good quality toiletries if you need them. The kitchen is well stocked with all the pots and pans you'd need from doing a Sunday roast to baking a cake.

The location really lets this place down. As soon as we arrived we were mortified to how busy the road right outside the front door was. It's literally the main through road of Ilfracombe from the harbour and to make matters worse it's right next to traffic lights. Every bus or truck that passes makes the house shudder. You hear every car and boy racers with their music playing. I feel awful writing this but it needs to be said as sleep is really affected by this. The traffic noise doesn't ease off until around 11.30pm until about 7am. The spiral staircases are also another issue. I'm very able bodied but I didn't feel safe. Going to the loo at night especially and coming from the main bathroom on the third floor, the first step is really dangerous.
