The most disappointing experience we have ever had

The location and the view were amazing

I am writing to express my deep disappointment with our recent stay at your hotel. Unfortunately, our experience was far below expectations, and I feel compelled to share the issues we encountered. When we arrived, it became immediately apparent that the hotel was not fully operational — many facilities were closed, creating a very unpleasant and frustrating environment. We later learned that the hotel was scheduled to close on October 1st, but our stay was prior to that date. It is difficult to understand how the hotel could accept guests at full (and expensive) rates while not providing the services advertised. Several major issues occurred during our stay: • Lack of operational services: Nothing in the hotel seemed active. Even buying a bottle of water required a 10-minute drive. Breakfast was minimal and disappointing. Staff members often responded with frustrated or tired expressions to even the simplest requests. • Pool facilities: The pool area was unattended, with no staff, no towels, and no cleaning service. We spent two hours at the pool, and when we stepped away for a few minutes, we returned to find that all loungers had been removed, effectively closing the area while we were still there. • Beach access: No beach loungers were available for our use. The wooden pathway for strollers had been dismantled, making it impossible for us to access the beach safely with our children, and there was nowhere to sit. Overall, we paid a full price for a stay that felt unorganized and poorly managed. Our time and money were wasted, and what should have been an enjoyable experience for our family — especially with small children — was instead stressful and disappointing. Given these circumstances, we respectfully request that you consider appropriate compensation for the significant shortcomings during our stay.

The hotel itself, location, beach and pool were all astonishing! The hotel is situated in a lovely place like Himarë just a few steps away from the beach, it even had grass and greenery in front of the beach which is very uncharacteristic for hotels in Albania. Beach was next level, clean, good distance between umbrellas and never overcrowded which is definitely different from typical albanian hotels. Pool was amazing aswell with plenty of sunbeds, cabbanas and umbrellas. I was there with a baby and you can stroll anywhere with the baby stroller without any problems, i dont know if it is mentioned anywhere but this is the most family suited hotel i have ever seen! Last but not least the housekeeping staff was also one of the best, the ladies were so polite and so proffessional, no matter how we would leave the room, when we came back it was impeccable clean!In short the hotel met our expectations and we definitely had a memorable stay!

Breakfast was dissappointing, i ate cold omlettes for 4 days and there were not so much variety of food especially fruits. If you brand your hotel as “Luxury”, breakfast should be one of the first things to meet that level of service. There should be live cooking omlettes or at least it should be stored somewhere where it could be kept warmer. Staff could be more welcoming, the young guys at the pool were very polite and professional, what i did not like was the staff in the breakfast room, they were constantly rushing and would take forever to bring you a coffee. Also the guy at the beach was absent a lit of the time, i had to open the umbrella myself and had to search for him to provide me the towels.

The meat and sushi restaurant we ate at one night was over priced and the steak for two was so salty that we had to leave most of it. All we got was a sorry!

Exceptional Stay

We had a wonderful time at Prado Luxury Hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and professional, making us feel right at home. The rooms were spotless, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable, offering everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The hotel facilities were top-notch, and the atmosphere was calm and elegant, perfect for unwinding. The location was also excellent, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. Overall, our experience was nothing short of amazing, and we would highly recommend Prado Luxury Hotel to anyone looking for a perfect combination of comfort, luxury, and outstanding service. Perfect holidays

My stay at Prado was a truly wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly, always ready to help with a smile and great professionalism. Their warm hospitality made me feel right at home. Additionally, the cleanliness of the hotel was absolutely perfect – every area was spotless and well-maintained, from the room to the shared spaces. Comfortable and clean

Clean and spacious room. Great beach and pool area. Daily cleaning service did a good job each day.

Staff wasn’t very friendly, every question or request seemed like they were doing us a favor. However, I did read to expect this in Albania, their customer service just isn’t there yet for international tourists. Breakfast they don’t refill items that run out so if you get there late, too bad, you’re out of luck on the good stuff.

We didn’t use the swimming pool once during our stay as many occasions there was 10 + badly behaved children with no adult in sight. Not necessarily the hotels fault but a warning to any couples looking for a relaxing break this hotel is definitely not adults only. The menus at the beach bar and restaurants didn’t have many vegetarian options, we ate at the beach bar once which was ok but not worth the money. We ended up eating out for the rest of our trip. Many of The staff lacked friendliness and helpfulness.

Stunning hotel with great potential, ruined by unruly kids and poor staff

Architecturally stunning, well appointed. Excellent proximity to the beach with amazing beach beds. Cocktails at the beach bar were good (albeit expensive).

Kids were completely unruly and out of control. The kids took over the entire pool area and meant we could never use it unless we wanted to get splashed / harassed. We recognise this isn’t an adult only hotel; however, given the hotel markets itself as a “luxury” hotel, it requires kids facilities / a separate area for adults as there is no where for to relax without being harassed / hear screaming kids. Terrible beer choice and basically had to go elsewhere as didn’t want a Stella in Albania… Gym is nice but air conditioning doesn’t really work so was boiling (didn’t work well in bedroom either). Had a mix up with the massage and the staff couldn’t have been less helpful.

- It does not feel set up for international visitors or couples who want to relax - You can not buy a glass of wine, wine is available by the bottle in the restaurant but not in the bars - it was over run by children screaming loudly until late in the evening -chaotic breakfast - you have to figure it out for yourself and then when I worked out how to order my food was given to another guest.

A family resort not a luxury hotel

The hotel itself was gorgeous with how it has been designed and the interior. Our room was very nice with all the latest mod cons. The staff were friendly and we really appreciated the valet parking and the two friendly guys who parked our car. The staff in the restaurant were very professional and kind. The food in both restaurants was very nice.

The breakfast needs a lot of work to align with the 5* luxury hotel it has marketed itself as. Limited options which lacked flavour and variety. You expect an omelette bar and the pastry select was poor. One of the receptionist was nice but didn’t speak a lot of English and needed help with translation. The other was nice but a little rude at times. Our biggest problem with this hotel was that it was 85% families. On one of the days by the pool there were 16 children under the age of 10 in the pool which meant we couldn’t use it and it was anything but relaxing. We had to go to the beach to get any piece and quiet which was a shame as we prefer to be by the pool. The other problem with the amount of children was the lack of adult supervision. We noticed that even with all the children in the pool the parents were nowhere to be seen which meant we had to keep an eye out to make sure no one drowned. At one point two little girls smashed the glass they were drinking out of and we have to help them navigate their way out of the broken glass on the floor. For this hotel to have this many family rooms to accommodate this many children means it is not a luxury hotel. Of course you can never expect to go somewhere where there wont be any families and children but for there to be this many means this hotel has been completely mismarketed and it needs to be looked at. If you’re a couple that is looking for a relaxing hotel I would not recommend this hotel.

Overall everything was excellent and I would definitely come again.

The location is beautiful with beach access directly across the street, the staff is welcoming and polite. Any questions you may have can easily be answered along with a fair amount of accommodations provided.

The only complaint is there should be small foods available at the beach, such as pizza for example.

Beautiful building, rooms, pool, beach. Located right on the beach.

The concierge lady was helpful but most of the staff nothing but rude. The rates of the rooms are outrageously expensive for the area so it definitely is considered a luxury hotel. However, one would expect not only luxurious accommodations but also an exceptional service. Which is definitely not the case here. We had a few disappointing experiences with some staff members and also who charges €20 for a burger in the village of Albania? Lol - just insane :) we had some occasions to celebrate but it all got ruined by the way the staff treated us. We definitely left disappointed. Oh, and horrible pillows.

the rooms were beautifully designed, clean and spacious. it had a nice outdoor pool area and the service in general was lovely. great prices for drinks and a great selection for their breakfast buffet.

Exceptional

The hotel is extremely beautiful, with amazing design details. We went in low season (beginning of October) and it seemed we were the only guests, which was incredible. Amazing pool just for us, gym, breakfast, music. Totally recommend. And Said was very kind to us and took care of everything during our stay.

A bit overrated

Beautiful pool, very comfortable beds

We felt the staff here were not as helpful or friendly as we were used to in Albania. Maybe because it was the end of the season but definitely not '5 star' service. Breakfast selection was a bit poor - very little fruit etc. Cocktails from the bars expensive and a bit lacklustre. Spa was closed when we were there which booking.com did not alert us to.
