It was a wonderful property. We had some problems with the keys, some doors doesn’t open, maybe need to replace the keys. And another thing I didn’t like is that we had to drive 16 miles north from where we was to return the key,so ridiculous ! They should just ask to leave the keys at the lock box. So much easier.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Hello! We recently hosted my father's 90th Birthday at The Lightkeeper. The weekend worked out really well, but I did want to give my feedback. It looks like the property is for sale so this all may be a moot point, but nonetheless, I would describe the stay as "rough". It seems like a great place with a lot of potential but we really had to create our own situation! We purchased our own chairs, towels and tent. And we made friends with the neighbors who then graciously let us use their access points to the beach. Our "beach day" was indeed magical but, sadly, no thanks to the Lightkeeper.Because we had folding chairs, we were able to re-purpose them to use on the two decks, and we had a good laugh when we finally discovered a large amount of hidden folding outdoor chairs that we could have used instead of carrying our chairs all over the place! We were able to pull off our dinner - but - there was a big last minute scramble to get dining (NOT CAFE) chairs for the long table we had rented, silverware, glasses, etc. It all worked out successfully but there was a lot of unnecessary drama which ended up putting a big damper on the whole thing for me.The AC and the cleanliness of the sheets and towels were below sub-par, but luckily our family camps a lot, and is familiar with roughing it, so we made it work! We had plenty of space and bathrooms, and the Ponte Vedra beach was great. But I've had several family reunions at basic "camps" over the years which are pretty much the same experience. This property is not at the level of a "real" VRBO. We got a good price and "you get what you pay for" so all's well that ends well. But whoever the final owner is, they are leaving a lot of money on the table. This property could be really special with a little more effort.

We enjoyed our stay and the place was nice, but not sure if we'd stay there again. Pros: - Good location close to old town St. Augustine - Great layout for multi-family social time upstairs - Clean (but a few minor things needed fixing) - Access to the Serenata Beach Club (for additional fee) was wonderful - Driveway was great for kiddies to bike/scooter, lots of parking Cons: - Beach access is 1/2 mile away - Room layout wasn't quite as expected from pictures ... didn't work as well as hoped for multiple families - One "bedroom" was basically a big closet - Door was unlocked upon arrival, and no on called us back when we contacted the rental agency - Both dryers were full of wet towels upon arrival

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is large enough for 6 individuals or couples. The 7th bedroom is pretty much a closet with a bed in it. The wifi network is a different name (we figured it out). The tv in the "crow's nest" works but there is no cable or internet there. Overall the house was okay but the description should include the fact that in order to walk to the beach you have to trespass. There is no access despite being directly across the street.
