LaFrenchCasa La Plaine

La Casa is petite but has everything you need. I stayed about a month. Comfortable. Very good bathroom. Kitchen works really well and having a washing machine was great. The AC was an absolute godsend!. WIFI also great. It is situated in a very vibrant quarter of Marseille. It's not always quiet but you definitely feel part of the place. Yoga studio across the road which had excellent classes and teachers - all in French but teachers spoke English well to assist when needed. A Peruvian restaurant below ( though a little pricey and food wasn't as good as elsewhere). Bars and Patisserie abound. A classic Tabac right outside, tattoo shop and Vinyl store across the road. Highly recommend Artless Gallery & English Bookstore around the corner owned by the amazing Lisa and Mark. Bohemian Cours Julien is at the end of the street right by the Metro Notre-Dame du Mont. all while the World Cup was unfolding. Huge Cheers in the square till all hours as people gathered around the tv screens outside the many bars...and arrived on Fete de la musique festival. Only choice was to join in ! If you want to feel part of the fabric of this sexy vibrant city, stay here. Very very affordable and if you are a couple ( one double bed) even moreso. Hanging out my laundry above the street like a true European a highlight - and given how hot it was it dried almost intsantly.

Personally I loved feeling part of the fabric of this place but if you are a bit precious about noise or closeish quarters in the building that means you hear real people living real lives then it's probably not for you.

Die Lage ist super, alles ist fußläufig zu erreichen und man lebt mit in Marseille. Die Unterkunft ist perfekt für ein Wochenende.

Der Balkon sowie ein paar Stellen in der Wohnung könnten etwas liebe gebrauchen, auch waren die dicken Kakerlaken im Treppenhaus weniger ansehnlich.

Great place in a super area of Marseille. Relaxed atmosphere, lively with local people, nice graffity all over. Bonus of the appartment is the private sunny terrace!

This ugly smell comes now and then. It has nothing to do with the hygiene of the place; you can sometimes smell it on the road as well. It is just a bad and old sewerage that is quite common in a lot of old towns

The staff were nice and communicative and the location was very nice for exploring the town, and very lively in the evening. A few local cheap bars just outside tbe building.

There was no toilet paper or soap when we arrived, and it was in the evening so we needed to go buy some in a convenence shop. The shower was clogged so we could not shower when we arrived. The staff was fast to solve it the following day, however ir was still disappointing. Also it's quite noisy during thr night, I guess because it is in a party area.
