About this hotel
The Bonnie Inn is a nostalgic motel built in the 1940s by Mr. Moore, a local resident of San Andreas who worked at the Calaveras Cement plant which has been closed for several decades. Mr. Moore built the inn with cement bricks he made himself one by one, added an adobe tile roof, and named it the San Andreas Motel. At that time, Highway 49 was not much more than a dirt road surrounded by the foothills of the Sierra Nevada dotted with oaks and pines. The inn was purchased in the 1970s by Bonnie Janssen who renamed the motel Bonnie's Inn. Bonnie spent many years of her life turning the inn into a warm, bright, and welcoming place where people from all over the country, even the world, came to stay. Her style, passion, endless work, and love can still be felt by those who spend time at the Bonnie Inn among the antiques, art, and long-established foliage situated on the property. Not to forget the thousands of California Poppies that bloom every spring peppering the landscape creating a carpet of orange.

Beautiful cozy place to stay! We were passing through the area and loved our stay at Bonnie’s! Really cute old school diner next door so convenient! Also we slept so well, bed and pillows so comfy!

My spouse and I attended a concert at ironstone
There were no accommodations available in Murphy’s or Angels Camp
This was the perfect in between spot for us to stay comfortably and reasonably after the concert
The room was quiet and clean, and the bed was comfortable

This was a nice room in a small strip of rooms. I was staying here to be close to family and to have some quiet time. The rooms are unique and nicely furnished. The local manager was easy to work with and quick to respond to messages.
