Kalma Bamboo Eco Lodge - Adults Only

We had such an amazing stay at Kalma. The villa is absolutely beautiful, peaceful and intimate, and honestly even better than in the pictures. We immediately felt at home there. But what really makes Kalma special is the team. Everyone was so kind, welcoming and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. They helped us with everything, from scooters and drivers to restaurants, activities and great local recommendations. Everything was always easy and done with a smile. A special thank you to Oscar, Andreas, Riska and the whole team. You really made our time in Lombok so special. It’s one of those places where you come because the villa looks beautiful, but you leave remembering the people just as much. We absolutely loved it and would 100% stay here again. Thank you for everything ❤️

Very clean, everything we needed was provided. Staff were extremely nice, hands-on, and quick to respond. Feels like staying in a treehouse above the rainforest. Such a unique and great experience!

The road to access the property is a very bumpy 10–15 minutes by car. Obviously not something the property can change, but worth knowing before you arrive.

Not quite the peaceful escape we expected While the property is marketed as being away from the crowds, ongoing construction next door meant constant noise throughout our stay and dogs barked continuously both nights. The access road is rough and steep, worth knowing if you or anyone travelling with you is prone to car sickness. The setting is deep in the jungle, which has its charm, but the bathroom is semi-outdoor, so be prepared for bugs, geckos and the occasional uninvited guest. We stayed in the Villa Mana, one of three villas, and the veranda only gets around three hours of direct sunlight a day. The pool was very cold, especially in the mornings, so don’t expect a relaxing morning swim or that Instagrammable floating breakfast. One more thing worth flagging: stray dogs wandered onto the property during our stay and were reluctant to leave.
