Though a little out of the way, this apartment was very nice and a pretty good bargain.
Location is in the Neustadt, which is a medium-distance walk to the sights of Mainz’s Altstadt. The apartment has a nice kitchen and there is a very nice Rewe supermarket nearby along Rheinallee. The main living area has a large bed, and the bedroom has two small beds. So it is very good for family.
The check-in procedure is a little convoluted, and there were some difficulties accessing the keys due to an incorrect combination on the lockbox. As with most apartments in Germany, there is no air-conditioning, which makes sleeping in summer months difficult.

After two different hotels in two other cities, we stayed in this apartment and this was a great decision. Apartment is comfortable, clean and has good location for exploring Mainz. Owner is kind person ready to help and cares about customers.
Super bad internet, but I did not ask to fix this problem.
