Hobson's Cottage 10 Main Street

The cottage had such a nice feeling to it, really settling and comforting. Lovely little place, had everything you'd need, more or less, nice and easy and secure check in/out.

The only thing that was a bit of an issue was that the cutlery, some crockery, and a few pans weren't actually clean, but I think that's down to previous guests putting dirty things away and I understand that the owners wouldn't think to look for dirty cutlery in the cutlery drawer! Thankfully the dishwasher is there so an easy fix. Oh the only other thing was the Google maps pin is the wrong side of the road and we came in from the other direction to the written ones provided so missed the cottage, ended up down someone's driveway! They were nice enough to see us out and let us know where we needed to be though.

Quiet location close to country park. Local area has some lovely cafes and farm shops. The cottage is warm and cozy with lots of original features . Great pub virtually next door serving good food and real ales went there every evenning !

The path leading up to cottage is a bit of a challenge in wet weather and at night, could do with an outsde light. Front door was very hard to open and close due to wonky nature of the door frames ( cottage is very old) No wood availble to light fire , would be nice to keep warm on cold nights.

it was advertised as 3 bedroom but 1 bedroom was a box room, barely fitting a bed in it plus huge step up to it which anyone with mobility issues would have found impossible. The bed linen was clean but the duvet was stained and there were hairs on one of the pillows as well as a long hair in the double bed. Could have been cleaner - a lot of spiders and cobwebs and what looked like mouse droppings on the bathroom floor.
