CEFAS Apartments

We wanted to stay in Cefalu old town, the location couldn’t have been better so close to the Duomo. The interior photos also made me think of a certain television detective programme set in Sicily, but it was even more characterful than I imagined. Also pleased to have a modern kitchen with a washing machine and dishwasher.

Not negatives for us, but the two bathrooms are together by the door, rather than en-suites. The rubbish trucks would usually wake me up about 6am, but not too much other noise from being so central, the music from the Duomo square not loud or late. Steep stairs but the greeter helped with luggage! (And if we’d known about the washing machine beforehand we would have brought less stuff so wouldn’t have been an issue).

Beautiful decor, ideal central location, big space. It’s a really special and unique place to stay in.

Room was incredibly noisy from the street which made it hard to sleep. Water pressure in the shower was very low and sometimes the hot water didn’t work.

Beautiful apartment, with a lot of history and culture. Ideal location, right beside the Duomo on Piazza del Duomo and a 5-minute walk from the beach. The host was really helpful, assisted with any questions we had and took time to make recommendations about local amenities.

The only downside for us was the amount of steep steps to access the property. We had a small child with us so carrying the pram up and down the steps several times a day was exhausting. Also the bed wasn’t very comfortable and bedding didn’t appear to fit properly so with any slight movement the bedding would come away, leaving the mattress exposed.
