I didn’t end up staying at the property because of the dirt, the smell and the noise

I didn’t like anything l. It was dirty, smelly and noisy. In fact I was in the property for 30 mins and left.

It as so-so.

It was accessible, great place, clean but old. Toilet was clean and well-maintained.

There were bugs at the bed but it was alright. Place was old but manageable. Should have a new pillows and beddings and towels to make it more great. Should clean the bed as there were bugs in the bed.

For £50 it served its purpose, but definitely wouldn’t stay here again. Stinks.

Staff were great, check in was quick and easy. Location good.

Whole flat block smells, people in the room next to me were doing drugs all night. The room I stayed in smelt really strongly of cigarettes. I don’t smoke so it wasn’t the most pleasant thing ever. Foam mattress. Decor overall very dated and tacky.

First impression with the junk in entrance was a real let down,left a terrible first impression. Actual staying area was nice and clean and comfortable especially for the price.

Good

Spacious room, comfortable bed, clean and tidy and a television that works. Tea and coffee facilities in the room but you get water from seperate shared bathroom next door. Large kitchen/dining room is on the floor below with fridge/freezer and adequate cooking facilities (but no toaster!) Use of washing machine a bonus. Albert Road is cool lots of eateries. Handy to bus stop

Cat litter trays in the kitchen- there are two cats living there. Was expecting to be met at property but got a message to pick up keys from another property in a lockbox, not too far away but still had to drag my suitcase there . The room is right at the top of the building so quite a lot of stairs and would like to have seen a fire extinguisher up there. The property is at 6 Outram Rd not Oakley Court! Entrance foyer is scruffy and nothing to say you are in Albert Rd homestay was a bit concerned initially as they say "first impressions count". Bit of pub noise/music but bearable.

Ok for a night to sleep off a few drinks but wouldn’t stay otherwise

Location was central and only 10mins walk from the seafront. There is a nightclub directly opposite so there was quite a bit of noise. Price was good for festival weekend compared to others around.

Unfortunately our room smelt heavily of smoke which wasn’t pleasant

Good

Basically it was a flat, one guest room+kitchen downstairs and the other guest's room+bathroom+owner room (not sure) upstairs. Our room was big enough. The owner provided us with instructions in advance to find the keys to access the house/room, and it was all quite easy. We are satisfied with our stay, the room and bathroom were clean. (We didn't use the kitchen because we only stayed one night and left the next morning at 5am so we can't tell if it was ok) There was a lovely and very friendly cat wandering around the corridor but the owner had already warned us and it was not a problem for us. Know that there will be bowls for food (in the kitchen) and smell of cat food. I repeat for us it was absolutely not a problem but maybe for others it can be. You can take a quick shower (like 10 min) otherwise the hot water runs out and you have to wait 30 minutes. But I think 10 min is enough for a shower :) Also the owner allowed us to bring our bikes into the apartment overnight.

There are pubs and clubs around there so the noise and buzz of people was a bit of a problem. But we had read other reviews and knew it could be a problem. Also we slept with the window open, so... When we woke up in the morning there was a strong smell of cigarettes in the house so it wasn't very pleasant to wake up like that

Value for money and well located

The flat is well located on the junction of several main roads running through Southsea, so very convenient for bars and restaurants and not too far to walk to the beach and the shops in Southsea. Because of its location, there is a lot of noise from the bars across the road until the early hours on Fridays and Saturdays. This wasn't an issue for us as we were out late both those evenings, but it's not ideal if you're looking for quiet accommodation. The kitchen is well equipped. We had the bigger room which had a sofa and we appreciated the extra space. The cat's friendly and likes attention!

There is free street parking nearby. However, whichever zone you park in, there's around a two hour slot at some point in the day which requires a resident's parking permit. If you're bringing your vehicle and don't want to play musical cars, let the owners know in advance and they can supply you with a parking permit.

My worst ever experience of accommodation whilst working away from home. The place needs upgrading.

The only thing I liked about the property was the bed. Super comfy.

Sharing the facilities with other guests,Trying to eat my evening meal with a cat going to toilet in a litter tray in the kitchen diner, Having to get down on my knees to have a shower with the bath filling up because of the drain pipe blocked.Loud music coming from the flat below mine,The smell of people smoking weed around that area.
