The place couldn’t be nicer and the hosts were best ever.

First of all the photos of this apartment are no exaggeration, the unit is stunning. By far the nicest place we stayed at during our 3 week Greece/ Italy trip, in fact probably the nicest place we’ve ever stayed. The view made us never want to leave there, we literally wished we could buy the place. The bed was heavenly! Tied for first with the room is the hosts that were incredibly friendly and helpful. The snacks and drinks provided were excellent but the free breakfast was over the top with great selections and delivered hot daily. The location is a short walk from the ferry and is right at the beginning of all the shops, restaurants etc. the perfect spot that is not in between buildings.

Best Stay in Naxos

It’s one of the best accommodations I’ve stayed at and I am a well travelled individual. The location is perfect, close to port, restaurants, shops and walkway along the water. Beaches are a walk away. The unit is stunning, so clean with an odour of freshness throughout. It’s well decorated, the bed is big, comfortable with soft bedding. The breakfast was delicious every day brought to you at the time of your choice. Maria is the best host, always volunteering to help and guide you so that you have the best experience during your stay. I highly recommend Porta Marina.

A fantastic experience, provided by an equally fantastic host.

The “Porta Marina” is less a hotel and more a luxury inn, owned and operated by “Maria,” a fantastic host who works to ensure nothing is missed in providing a quality experience. From wonderful custom ordered—room delivered breakfasts timed to accommodate your schedule, to charming amenities provided to ensure the comfort of her guests, she truly delivers a wonderful experience. Her inn is located a short walk from the ferry pier and starts at what may best be referred to as “the strand” of Naxos along the harbor, which greets you with a myriad of restaurants, shops, and taverns—though not of the obnoxious “loud” variety. The evenings are quiet and sleep comes easy. My only caution, book early as the spacious rooms are few. Thank you Maria, we had a wonderful stay at your lovely inn.

Beautiful, perfect, would stay again in a heartbeat.

Where do we begin? Maria began communicating with us early on in an effort to make sure she was there for our check-in (based on our ferry arrival time). We had two large suitcases and a gentleman insisted on helping my husband haul them up the stairs. Maria walked us through her dinner recommendations in town, the best beaches to visit, which mountain towns to visit and why…she went above and beyond with her time and nothing she recommended was a tourist funnel (ie all lived up to her recommendations). She provided us with a breakfast menu if we wanted it. The room itself was one of the nicest we’ve ever stayed in, period. The location was perfect (easy access off the ferry and then easy to access Chora). We rented a car for one day and there are three places to rent from within one block. The room was perfect, the service was beyond perfect, and we wish we had Maria to help us navigate our own non-vacation lives, haha! We would stay here over and over again if we could. We are in Santorini now and wish we had this residence in every future town/city/country we ever stay in. Thank you again to Maria and Porta Marina, we hope to return someday.

Maria was an excellent host. She gave us recommendations for dinner and places to visit. The complimentary breakfast was above and beyond great! It was served on time and nicely presented on our table. Our room had an exceptional view in the best location and was very close to the port. We would definitely stay there again!

The property is perfect location. While the balcony overlooks the main strip, it is off to the side enough where you don’t hear much noise at all while in the room. You are a short walk to the main restaurants and shops along with St. George’s beach. Also the ferry and bus stop is right outside which can take you to other beach locations.

The property is incredible and truly a hidden gem of Naxos. The business owner is onsite and makes sure you have everything you need, from laundry, breakfast, clean towels, morning and mid day room service. The property is very safely secure and locked with outdoor cameras so it’s also very safe. The apartment itself has a large bathroom, kitchen area, full balcony, couch, big comfy bed, bluetooth speaker for music, tv, iron and steamer. The balcony and window views of Naxos are some of the best! With a clear view of the harbor, town, and temple of Apollo! We hope to be back soon!!

Wonderful 10/10 place at the heart of Naxos!

Everything was delightful! The location is right by the port, so most things (including countless bars and restaurants) are a short walking distance. The room is bigger than it looked like in the pictures and was also kept to a very, very high standard and was exceptionally clean (and cleaned/tidied daily). We were very comfortable there during our 1-week stay. The breakfast was really rich with some fantastic options (fruits, bread & jam, greek fyllo pastries, pancakes, yoghurt etc). We are vegan and we still had a ton of options! Finally, the hostess, Maria, was amazing. She mapped out several spots for us to visit (all of them excellent suggestions) and adjusted breakfast options accordingly, to cater to our needs. Absolutely exceptional stay and will visit again!

Great property enhanced by a great hostess.

Our hostess Maria, was incredibly attentive. She was constantly asking us if we needed ANYTHING, made great recommendations for restaurants and even booked tables for us. She also helped us with Naxos sightseeing by setting up a fantastic guide. The property is amazing, beautifully decorated, spacious, and a great location overlooking the port (and it smells great). We loved watching sunsets over the Temple of Apollo from our balcony. The breakfast brought to our room every morning was terrific. Everything about this stay was perfect. Highly recommend!

What a fantastic stay at this wonderful property. Maria and her family are so hospitable. The location is superb, right at the port. but the room was not noisy as it seems that the windows were constructed to maintain quiet. Direct view of the Temple of Apollo, including sunset. We were met with a smile and a bottle of wine and it just got better from there. The room was very comfortable with the bed and bathroom great. Daily breakfast served to order in the room was outstanding. This was the first place of our first stay in the Greek isles and we are so glad we had it at Porta Marina. It really highlights the beauty and hospitality of Naxos. We rented a car and it was easy to pick it up at the port and to have free parking a few blocks away as part of the city parking. Simple things like wifi and a fridge were handy and all worked well. Kind of a perfect place.

Everything was perfect. Maria, our host was just fantastic. The unit was immaculate and was kept clean and well stocked. Breakfast was very good and right on time. The location was perfect, right at the start of the pedestrian walkway. Across from the ferry port and a line of sight to the Temole of Apollo.

Couldn't speak highly enough about this. Location was perfect, right beside where the ferry arrives. The room, view and balcony/veranda was spectacular. Hot tub was amazing. It was like being in a top class 5 star hotel including breakfast being brought to your room. Heaven on Naxos

If I could give this stay a 12/10 I would- it is that exceptional. We had a luxurious, calming stay that was the highlight of our entire 2 weeks in Greece. The location in Naxos town and near the port can't be beat, and the room was ultra modern and high-end feeling with luxe towels and linens. Not to mention a beautiful balcony view of Portara and a covered patio for relaxing! Our hostess Maria was especially excellent, very hospitable, quick with recommendations and helpful with making all kinds of reservations for us. We also loved the inclusive breakfasts which were not only delicious but also had many options so we never had the same thing twice.

The room was very luxurios, nice and clean. The location was great and the view from the small balcony excellent. The big balcony was also very nice with comfortable furnitures. The breakfast was served in the room and was delicious. When we arrived we had nice Wine and cakes and during our stay we were having free water, beer, soda etc. Good wifi. We got a good recommendation to a carhirecompany with good prices.

Maria was the owner and so welcoming. She took us to our room as soon as we arrived and the room was incredibly clean and nice. We had a jacuzzi in our room that had an exceptional view of the water. This was by far the best hotel we have stayed at so far in Greece.

Dream stay

New and superbly decorated hotel (the room is just sublime). Maria welcomed us royally from breakfast to the little attentions on returning to the apartment, with her advice for discovering the island and her great kindness. The location is dreamy on the harbor with a direct view of the sunset every evening from the bedroom and the balcony giving the impression of being in a movie. Exceptional

An amazing breakfast that highlighted the food of Greece was delivered to our door each morning. It was spectacular!! The host was extremely helpful, friendly and sincere. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower....the shower was to die for!!

I am only noting this because I am asked what we didn't like The only small issue we had was the air conditioning unit didn't circulate the cool air very well, so there was an area of the room that would be very cool, while the rest of the room remained warm. We tried to address the problem by opening the window in the shower to increase circulation and it worked very well but the noise from that side of the building was terrible as I think there may have been a wedding going on as they partied into the wee hours of the morning, so we simply couldn't keep the window open. I didn't mention it to the host as there would have been little she could have done about it. Again, this was only a slight and minor inconvenience and definitely doesn't alter my 10/10 rating on this property.

The room was absolutely gorgeous. It was HUGE, especially for a European room. I didn't realize that a kitchen came with it. There was a hot tub with a beautiful patio and the shower was a room in itself! So beyond comfortable. Maria was an incredible host and was so communicative. There was also a little table with two chairs overlooking the harbor that i had my breakfast every morning. A bountiful breakfast is delivered daily.

The location is superb. The apartment is meticulously appointed and the decor modern Myconian and amazing. a cosy place in one of the best Greek islands

Perfect location if you like staying in the city centre. The room was so cosy with stylish decorations and brand-new pieces of furniture. Small details in the room made it comfortable and enjoyable. We liked sitting on the balcony and watching the sunset. They sent a breakfast basket every day with different selections which were better to taste a variety of Greek pastries.
