Fantastic Staff and accommodation

Everything was fabulous. Alec, Kalua, Chris, William, and Portia, they are an absolute credit to the Marvel Guesthouse. They couldn't do enough for us. Such a comfortable pool area, delicious cocktails, and breakfast. Recommend this establishment highly. Thank you all for such an amazing stay.

Unrivalled view, nicely furnished, good location

Beds were very hard with waterproof sheets fitted. With no air con, i can see why... you literally stick to the sheets. Others comments about leaking showers still not rectified, water all over bathroom floor as shower door doesnt close. Black mould and cracked tiles in shower. Despite Cape Town's water issues, it takes 5+ mins for any warm water to reach the shower. No TV in room, no hair dryer in room however one was supplied when asked, albeit a travel sized hair dryer. No air con - at this price point it should be included. This place is crying out for maintenance and investment. If the view is all you care about its a 10 out of 10, the problem is it doesnt do the basics else particularly well. Breakfast was disappointing, had some toast but had to ask for jam/marmalade. Coffee was dreadful. There's something odd about this place, staff are distant, things like they keep drinks under lock and key, budget hairdryers kept behind closed doors, cracked window, loose floor tiles, stains on the bed linen.... it all just seems more budget than luxurious and i guess while people continue to book, nothing will change. You're paying a massive premium for the view, which is an amazing view, but it doesnt justify the price.

Lovely staff and incredible location, spectacular views which we really enjoyed and it was peaceful. The staff went above and beyond to cater to our needs, especially the chef and team!

There was unfortunately no aircon, which was a slight issue since the room gets plenty of sun being summertime and gets rather warm. That plus the foam mattress led for quite a hot sleep at night. Some issues with the bathroom shower leaking quite a bit on the floor.

Relaxing stay with an unforgettable view

Fantastic and unique location with an incredible view and easy access to Llandudno beaches. Friendly and helpful staff. Overall we had a great stay, two nights was long enough as it’s a quiet spot.

The pool is small and some of the facilities look a little tired. Breakfast options somewhat limited and hot food is at an additional cost (only continental breakfast was included in the price of our room).

Pure luxury in wonderful stylish house high above the sea. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Cleanliness is excellent. Good meals, very friendly and helpful stuff. This house is a must when u tour Cape Town.

Great spot just disappointed bathtub was not working :(

The stay was incredible. It really is a dream spot.

Everything was great however the bathtub isn't working? We asked staff that were on site and they either said they didn't know anything about it and some saying it couldn't be fixed that night. we only stayed two nights and we picked this place based on the hot tub so it was really disappointing we couldn't use it especially given the cost. We spent a good amount in meals and drinks and just feel some sort of rembursment would have been the right thing to offer. Instead we just got no real feedback for the bath tub. Everything else was truly wonderful.

Birthday weekend Turnoff

The house is beautiful. Views fantastic.

The room was small- no aircon. Service was terrible, especially the young foreigner who disrespected us and caused to find alternative accommodation. In terms of breakfast- only a cold buffet is included,not the fundamental of breakfast, ie egg. The sliding door of the room was literally falling. The ironing board actually fell. The bathtub, has a tile falling. The House in itself needs some repairs-incl windows...but also the furniture thou antique is mostly old and worn. The bed was squeaking all night,and mostly felt like it would fall.

Sand, Sea, and Surprises: A Tale of Two Experiences

I had an absolute blast at the beach house this weekend! 😍 The breakfast was EVERYTHING and more (10/10), and the platter was almost too pretty to eat (9.5/10). The "standard" room felt like a king suite (12/10), with breathtaking mountain views (9/10) and STUNNING sea views (11/10) 🌊. The staff were super friendly and attentive (10/10), and they even did an amazing romantic set-up in our room for my birthday (100/10) 💗. Overall, the beach house was an absolute gem, and I'd totally come back for more!

The beach house itself was lovely, but the beach was a major letdown. We literally walked till we thought we'd lose our legs, and when we got there, it was a nudist beach 🤦‍♀️. I just don't get it, you know? We were like, 'Hello, a bit of warning would've been nice!' 😂 It felt super uncomfortable, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a chill beach vibe 🙅.

Amazing location in Llandudno - Would definitely stay again.

The location of the property was fantastic. The room sizes all large, we had Suite 5. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Very comfortable property. The breakfast was good with the option to pay extra for cooked but continental was included. Can walk to Sandy Bay or Llandudno Beach.

There was nothing we didn't like but the shower cubicle in our room could have done with a refurb due the corners looking a bit black. (Small point) Some of the electric sockets didn't work. Just beware that there are no shops nearby nor restaurants, not a problem if you have a car. Dinner can be requested at the property but the chef was not available when we were there so we had to 'Uber' to go out for food.

Wonderful

Our stay was absolutely exceptional! Alick, Kalua, and Kalua’s wife were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. Chris was also very kind and made us feel completely at home. The food was outstanding — breakfast was a highlight, and they even got fresh avocados just for me. The rooms were spacious, beautifully maintained, and spotlessly clean. The whole team made our stay truly unforgettable. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience — highly recommended in every way! 🌿✨

And the staff needs to get paid higher - this place would not accept without them. Please always tip them in cash as otherwise they don’t receive the tip. Besides that wonderful place- maybe AC should be bought.

Breathtaking and beautiful beach house - Indeed a Marvel.

I wanted to express my sincere appreciation for one of the most marvelous getaways I've had within South Africa. It was truly a wonderful experience. From start to finish, every aspect of the trip exceeded my expectations. This beach house is truly a marvel; the facilities and the atmosphere was incredibly relaxing and tranquil. The sunset from the deck was one for the memory books! The views from various parts of the house are simply breathtaking. We particularly enjoyed the fresh food that Chef William prepared for us. The butternut soup was the best I have ever had, and every meal he prepared was made with a lot of love, passion for food and attention to detail. It was truly a refreshing and rejuvenating break. A special shout-out to Alick, Kahlua, and Chef William for making our stay so memorable.

My wife and I have travelled quite a bit all around the world and have stayed at a number of beautiful hotels but the Marvel Beach House moved straight away to the pole position. The view was spectacular but what made the stay unforgettable was the team that took care of us during our stay. Always there to help, flexible and accommodating in all aspects. Breathtaking views and stunning sunsets over the Atlantic, you can hear the ocean... Attention to detail from the on-site crew with Chef William cooking up a special dinner on request. Kalua & Alick were exceptional in making my stay memorable. Away from the city but still within reasonable travel from airport and Constantia winelands. This was a birthday spoil and I was totally impressed and treated like royalty.

The fact that I didn't discover this place sooner! Will definitely go back. Private and overwhelmingly luxurious.

Impeccable service, nothing fancy, just true honest and friendly service. From the chef, to housekeeping and servers. Small team delivering a great experience. View is amazing, from any room in the hotel. Overall, it felt like we had rented a house for ourselves, but still with a great service included.

A good small cold breakfast selection was included, but anything hot was charged at a slightly high price. Considering the amount paid, I was expecting a full breakfast included.

Quiet, relaxing. Brilliant experience, stunning views.

The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with a smile. The breakfast was good (however take note, there breakfast included is limited options and you have to pay Extra for the hot breakfast). The view was amazing, the room was comfortable.

There wasn't much not too like. The room maybe could have had a dustbin besides the small one in the bathroom. The ash tray (which we do not use) was dirty and someone else's clothes were drying by our room's table on the outside. But overall the experience was great.

The views are spectacular. The staff were very attentive and eager to assist. The continental breakfast was good too.

It could be considered a little isolated as a base for lots of tripping - but it is very peaceful. We used Uber a lot and wait times were around 5mins for a ride.
