The Secret Wood Northumberland

Location was excellent close to coast & all major visitor attractions also close to local amenities. Site was excellent incredibly quiet given the number of people staying. Accommodation was good, but needs some improvement modest improvements.

Property didn’t have level access which was an inconvenience. Property needs updating especially bathroom and kitchen which are starting to show age related

the caravan is in a nice location with a lovely interior. it was cleaned to a good standard and the seating area outside was a nice addition the two nights that we were here the site was very quiet we would consider staying here again

the shower door does not close as it seemed to be the incorrect one the shower hose leaked so most of the pressure was lost we did see this on the reviews but assumed it would have been fixed. this is the only thing that let the stay down and if repaired it would be one of oyut top choices for a return visit

The caravan was cosy and comfortable on a quiet site. Percy Wood Caravan Park. Lovely dog walks and exercise area.

The problem with the shower door has still not been resolved after looking at other reviews. The cooking utensils e.g. pans/frying pans need to be replaced.(had to go out and buy a pan)

The location was very good for exploring both the Northumberland coast and the National Park. It is on a very well maintained site and was excellent value for money considering we were staying during the school summer holidays. The bar on site is ok but only lively on a Friday/ Saturday nights. The staff were a bit mixed with some clearly needing to upgrade their people skills!

The property is a caravan, not a lodge and overall it was adequate. However, there were some niggling issues. There is no information about how anything works such as bin collection, hot water, heating etc. You have to work it out for yourself or ask a neighbour. One bin liner, one tea towel and no dish cloth/pan scrubber was a bit tight for a week’s stay. The cooker hood did not work and generally the equipment provided was basic. A bigger problem was the shower as the cubicle door is broken and the hose leaks which means the pressure coming out of the head is low. The biggest problem was the very poor Wi-Fi connection. With a teenage daughter who likes gaming this was a constant source of moaning and meant that none of the digital channels on the TV would work. I feel that all of these issues could be easily rectified and would enhance a stay at ‘The Secret Wood.’
