Apartments by Brøchner Hotels

The breakfast was particularly good, especially given that I have Gluten sensitivity. There were SOME GF options, but not a large amount of choice. If I had stayed at the property for more than 4 days the same GF options would have become boring.

There were plenty of scuff marks throughout the apartment (including one spot of blood where someone had clearly hit their head on the slanted walls/roofline in our top floor apartment). These marks could have been easily removed with a bit of cleaning. And the lighting in the bathroom was low. A small table lamp or more ceiling lights would help.

The sofa in our room was very stiff and uncomfortable.

The location was perfect. Wine time was a nice surprise.

They do not have daily maid service but we prefer it that way

The location is fantastic. The room was really comfortable and quite. The breakfast was superb, freshly baked breads, organic produce and lovely teas.

My flight arrived late. I let the hotel know. I was reassured the reception is open 24hours. However I wasn't told the door would be locked and I would have to knock loudly to get in. I arrived and the hotel door was locked. I couldn't see anyone at the reception/bar. This was late at night. There was a guy on the street hanging around. I tried the door again and then walked to the end of the street where there were more people. I rang the hotel, I couldn't get through to reception. I went back again and tried the door again. Still couldn't see anyone. Was really concerned about how I was going to get in. The guy was still hanging around obviously drunk and staring. Eventually the receptionist came out. I told her that I had had a really unpleasant experience waiting outside. She said she had been on the phone and that customers usually knock. Was really dismissive. When I suggested a sign or better communication she was dismissive and defensive. I wouldn't recommend it as a lone female traveller because of this. I would go back in a group. The hotel should improve the communication and process around late night check in. Explain the door is locked, put in a door entry call bell for reception. Or a reassuring sign to knock and wait. I also had an early check out. The guy on reception was really friendly and helpful. Even made me a coffee. The rest of the staff were great and the service generally was excellent. My rating is lower than I would normally give because of the above experience.
