The cottage was comfortable and had everything we could have wanted available. The host went out of there way to be helpful and can't thank them enough.

Our hostess, Lucy, was warm and welcoming. The cottage is beautifully and tastefully decorated and furnished, and everything we needed, had been thoughtfully provided. It was a cosy, home from home experience, and we are already planning our return visit. It is situated at the edge of the lovely village of Disley, with beautiful surrounding scenery.
That we only had two days there.

Beautiful, excellently presented property. Sparkling clean, super comfy beds, lovely bathroom. Everything provided that we could need, with the added touches of fresh flowers, milk in the fridge and wine and chocolates! Owner provided all info via texts, even tips on local places to visit and very comprehensive written info, leaflets, maps etc. Cannot recommend highly enough. Absolutely excellent.

The cottage is immaculately clean and well-presented with lovely views of the Peak District from the upstairs windows.
Lucy and Carl were very attentive hosts, leaving a bottle of champagne for us and beautifully decorating the house for Christmas with a tree and even festive table mats! We were having a family Christmas for 8 people (4 people visiting for the day from Stockport and Macc) in the cottage; I was a little nervous about cooking but need not have been, as the oven (and kitchen as a whole) were well kitted out with all the pots, pans, dishes and utensils needed. The lounge was warm and comfy and the bedrooms spotless. The back porch is handy for storing your outdoor gear and, although we didn't use it, there is a large utility room with a washing machine, and two enormous sinks.
We did two walks locally directly from the house, one to Lyme Park (Mr Darcy' lake) and one up and over Black Rocks, which is the hill just behind the house. Super scenery. Disley is well worth a visit, with three pubs, a wine bar, and other restaurants. The village council even decorate the litter bins and planters for Christmas!

The back door key broke in the lock when we first entered the house, so we couldn't get in. However, within 20 minutes Lucy and Karl had arrived and sorted the problem.
