Absolutely lovely place to stay. only 50 yards from the harbour great facilities and a lovely hot bath for the muscles after a long walk or day in the sea. Probably the quietest place I've stayed in years, The saeguls alarm is a little early at 6 am though.

Castleton House is set in the beautiful village of Staithes, a traditional cottage style house in a great location just a short stroll from the harbour, dog friendly beach and pubs. Perfect for a step back in time holiday, great for rock pooling, exploring, walking, eating, drinking and just relaxing.
The cottage itself is typically Staithes, small but perfectly formed, perfect for a week with the family and dogs. Well equipped with all of the essentials, a small TV and WiFi. The beds are comfortable and the attic bedroom has a great view of the sea. We have stayed in many Staithes cottages and this is one we’d definitely return to.
I can’t honestly think of anything negative to say. We had a problem with the WiFi but the cottage owners couldn’t have been more helpful in trying to get it going again, we had great communication from them and they’re really lovely.

This is the 3rd time I've stayed at Castleton House now so that tells you that its nice. Its spread over 3 floors, the views from the top floor are great, overlooking Staithes Harbour. Its nice sitting by the window listening to the sea and the gulls. The house itself is well appointed, comfy and spacious. Everything you need for a weeks stay there. Yes, its quite a walk to and from the car park but the village was never designed for cars so its hardly a surprise!
i much prefer cooler temperatures so would have been nice to be able to open the ground floor windows. Apart from that there is nothing I didn't like about the cottage. Its a nice location and with it being slightly off the 'beaten track' you hardly get anyone walking by.

The cottage is lovely, very cosy and with the fire on gets really warm. The views from the top floor are stunning. Cottage was very well appointed. The location is right in the heart of the village which is good. However, with a lot of steps to reach the top of the village and car park a measure of fitness is definitely required. I've stayed here twice now and really hope to come back again next year.
