Ngan Phu Villa

Such a peaceful quiet place to stay but walking distance to the old town and plenty of of restaurants. A short bike to the rice paddies and a very quick grab to the beach. The staff were incredible. Felt like home.

Ngan Phu Villas do what very few guest lodgings do - they actually think about what their guests need and try their utmost to provide it. The room wasn't particularly big, but it didn't need to be. Everything we needed was supplied and delivered thoughtfully. The shower was separate from the toilet (big plus!), there was a safe, two bins (one for degradeables and one for non), the shower was great with excellent pressure and loads of hot water. There were even enough hooks for our wet towels!!! The bed was comfy, and the staff very helpful and accommodating. And on top of that, they were very reasonably priced. I can't recommend them highly enough. Oh, and did I mention the free breakfast? Again, the choices are thoughtfully considered and the food delicious.

Breakfast was nice, although if you get the bacon or sausage can you will barely get anything. Room was cleaned daily. Not on the main road, but a taxi ride from the centre.

Firstly, they tried to get us to cancel our booking, WhatApp messaging us multiple times 2 days before arrival telling us we need to cancel our booking because they had a water issue, when we didn’t respond it was then a booking system issue. Being aware of this scam and pressure put on guests to be the ones to cancel so they can put the room back up for a higher price for last minute bookings, we told them to only contact us through booking.com and cancel themselves if they needed too - surprise surprise the ‘issue’ was miraculously fixed and they didn’t need to cancel the booking!! And they had had guests during this time and no issues had been encountered by those guests, making it clear it was a scam. But to be honest we should have took this as a warning and cancelled ourselves! This is NOT a 9.5* accommodation and is much much more basic and tired than the photos make you believe! The mattress was the most uncomfortable we have experience on our travels in Vietnam, you could feel the springs. The staff come across lovely but on asking our itinerary the first morning they bad mouthed the tailors and spas we said we were going too, of course recommending other options that they have links too - however doing our own research they did not have as good reviews. They also told us they could get the best price for activities - this is also not the case, we could get these activities for half the price they were offering! The free bicycles are extremely old, don’t work properly and are all rusty, not like other bicycles people are riding from other accommodation in the town. The bike seat didn’t stay up, brakes didn’t work at all, they were very uncomfortable to use. We got a small amount of washing done, and all the white items came back dyed brown, they claimed they just needed to be washed again (since being home this is not the case, the colour does not come out and these items are totally ruined).
