Are you looking for an extraordinary living experience and have always wanted to spend your vacation in an architectural masterpiece? Then welcome to Villa Cavalli in Verscio! This impressive structure with its clean lines of concrete is one of the most beautiful private homes built by the Swiss architect Luigi Snozzi. Nestled in a beautiful landscape, in the middle of a spacious garden that cannot be seen from the outside, up to four people can experience the spirit of "Ticino Modernism" at first hand. The architect, university professor and co-founder of the "Ticino School" Luigi Snozzi loved Ticino and especially the region around Lake Maggiore. His concern was to combine a forward-looking architecture with the tradition, culture and nature of Ticino. Therefore, Villa Cavalli is also extremely aesthetically embedded in its surroundings. The masterpiece, built in 1976, nestles against a former vineyard and lies in splendid tranquility just 100 meters from the village center. The "Caraa du Vanign" footpath leading out of the "center", lined by a picturesque stone wall, seems to run directly into the house and continues inside as a "promenade architecturale" with a light-filled granite staircase whose airspace reaches all the way to the roof. Once on the first level, the view widens. The light-filled living room, furnished with furniture and prints by well-known design icons, opens onto the garden via a wall-length window front. The quarry stone wall of the terrace extends into the living room. This creates an artistic as well as atmospheric dialogue between inside and outside, which is crowned by magnificent views of Verscio and the mountains. On cool days, the chaise longue by Le Corbusier invites you to spend relaxing hours reading in front of the fireplace. An exquisite selection of books is at your fingertips. Right next to the living room is the dining area for four people and the adjoining, well-equipped kitchen - both with a view of the garden and direct access to the terrace. The staircase leads to the second living level. Here, too, Snozzi's understated poetry is revealed. The four bedrooms and a lounge are decorated in the finely composed minimalism typical of the architect. In addition, there is a cozy reading corner with countless treasures of books, where you can wonderfully let time pass by. All colors used in the house correspond to the original color concept. For example, the partitions of the bedrooms as well as the built-in wardrobes present themselves in a rich, shiny yellow. The spacious bathroom glows bright blue. Just like the kitchen. Window and door frames as well as the fronts of individual pieces of furniture are in a dark moss green. You want to go shopping or out to eat? In just 10 minutes you can be in the center on foot via the romantic "Caraa du Vanign". For culture enthusiasts, the village of 1.200 inhabitants has real highlights in store with the "Accademia Teatro Dimitri" theater school founded by the famous Swiss clown Dimitri, as well as the Dimitri Theater and Museum. In addition, Verscio offers itself as a starting point for wonderful hikes or discovery tours by bike or car. Please note: Due to its special construction, Villa Cavalli is recommended for fit adults as well as children from the age of eight. Since there is no direct access to the house, park your car at the train station and walk about 5 minutes from here.
