Amazing place to stay.

Beautiful old building with cafe, partial moat and geese, set in lovely countryside, very spacious and comfortable accommodation furnished with antique furniture, free tea and coffee in a separate room for guests.

There were no locks on the toilet/bathroom doors. Access to the loft bedroom was via another bedroom.

Quiet rest in a beautiful historical building

This place is nice, beautiful but simple, secluded but not too much, with character and authenticity. The fact that they have their own restaurant allows guests to enjoy themselves on the spot without using their car.

It was fine. Basic facilities, breakfast was good and pretty close to Maastricht.

It was quiet.

The bed and pillows weren't comfortable, the room looked and felt more like a hallway, the entire castle has single glass and is therefore very cold also the restaurant closes at 18:00 (but they are planning on fixing that).

Greatest combo of hospitallity, comfort and history for that price level!

The location, attention for detail and hospitality offered by the host and his wife were nothing short of excellent and impressive. The location itself, the facilities, the history, the renovations were simply breathtaking. It was a real pity we only had time for a short stay. I would have loved to spend some more time here (which we are certainly going to do in the future). It was a wonderful combination of sincere hospitality and breathing down on you quite pleasantly. Items which needs the "modern touch" like bathroom and stuff do really have that, state of the art! Rest is all wonderful history, great combo! I liked it at least.

Well, the location is wonderful but not a lot to do in the direct vicinity. Would be great if the nice pub/restaurant directly next door would have more accommodating opening hours. Also a minibar at the room perhaps for late(r) evening for the same reason

A real fairytale Castle…

This castle gives you the true experience of living in a real castle as the owners have carefully preserved the character of this timeless beautiful property. I have stayed at many castles and palaces around the world but most of them feel very standardized and commercial, whereas this property feels like your own little kingdom. One needs to understand that this is an 800 year old property so it cannot be perfect like a modern hotel but the owners are very lovely, enthusiastic and caring people who will go out of the way to make you feel as comfortable as possible, and such an attitude is what makes staying here all the more special. The landscape around this castle is like heaven, it’s a dream that cannot be captured in pictures and such beauty needs to be seen and appreciated with your own eyes. The owner gave us a private tour of the castle explaining it’s deep history. It takes a lot of courage and hard work to run such a Hotel and we are highly appreciative and thankful to the owners who “offer” such an experience that one would remember for the rest of their lives. We had the most beautiful suite with lots of antiques and paintings and a stunning view outside, and despite being old the room’s character was meticulously preserved but the best part was the Bedding, it was extremely comfortable. After staying at this beautiful castle we feel very very spoilt and would definitely be going back for a longer stay next time.

There is nothing not to like about such a beautiful place, it was an experience we would never forget.

Het was erg koud in 1 kamer, niet goed geïsoleerd, er was een erg grote kier bij de deur. Het was minden in de winter. De vloeren waren ijskoud.

Stilvolle, aber teure Unterkunft im Grünen auf einem historischen Gut.

Liegt sehr idyllisch im hügeligen und sehr grünen Umland von Maastricht und Valckenburg - in den Niederlanden, nahe Belgien und in Reichweite von Aachen. Historisch sehr interessantes Hofgut, den Gästen wird auch eine Gratis-Führung mit einem Experten angeboten - sollte man bei etwas historischem Interesse auf jeden Fall mitmachen. Es gibt einen Gemeinschaftsraum mit Kaffeeautomat (umsonst) und einer Vertrauenskasse für Wein, Bier und ähnliches. Jeder, der auf Antiquitäten steht, wird hier begeistert sein. Gutes Frühstück mit frischem Brot und Croissants (allerdings sehr teuer).

Ist schon arg ab vom Schuss, aber das weiß man ja. Das Haus und die Apartments sind sehr sauber, relativ groß, aber nicht modern. Alte Fenster, aber gute Heizung. Hat auf jeden Fall Charme und ist etwas besonderes - hat allerdings seinen Preis, der etwas üppig ausfällt - vor allem wenn man das teure Frühstück dazurechnet.

Leuk eenvoudig verblijf gehad

Het leukste van het verblijf was de ontvangst door de gastvrouw die ons incheckte. En het eten in het eenvoudige restaurant smaakte erg goed. Er zijn kamers in het oude woongedeelte en eenvoudige kamers gemaakt in oude paardenstallen. Leuk idee, maar de volgende keer in november voor ons liever een warmere kamer in het huis.

Zoals altijd kunnen er dingen beter. Ook hier dus. Onze kamer was in eerste instantie mooi om te zien en we vergaten daardoor dat we voor het kasteelgevoel kwamen. Maar het was prima voor deze keer. Ik zal hier zeker weer een keer boeken.

Prachtige locatie. Ik heb in een voormalige paardenstal geslapen, prachtig opgezet en goed verzorgd.

Ben heel prettig ontvangen en naar de kamer begeleid. Moest de volgende ochtend vroeg vertrekken en kon zelf ontbijt klaar maken! Super!

Zeer mooie locatie. Royale oude kamers met nieuw sanitair. Mooi uitzicht over de stille oprijlaan.

Locatie, badkamer. Miste wel een tafeltje oid in de badkamer om iets op te leggen (bv toilettas)

Als je van oude spullen houdt is het een bijzondere accommodatie. Bijvoorbeeld lampjes die stuk zijn of los hangen kunnen toch gewoon aangepast worden? Onze accommodatie had 6 slaapplaatsen, 2 daarvan zijn op een donkere vide, daar moet iemand tegen kunnen.
