Overnight near Valentia Island

Booked the accommodation for an overnight near Valentia Island. We received the EIR code early which made it really easy to arrive at the property. Checking was smooth. The owner explained everything about the place. Heating was on (really nice, it was getting cold outside) and we had been provided with toasts and jams for breakfast. Rooms very clean and comfortable. A great stay!

Beautiful scenery, cosy fireplace, great host, and donkeys!

We loved the cosy fireplace and comfy sofas. Marie was an excellent host, she checked in on us when we arrived and let us know where to find a place for dinner in the village. She also left free tickets to the cliffs and some bread, eggs and cheese for breakfast. The donkeys and beautiful scenery in the area were also a highlight for us.

Super lovely stay!

Fantastic stay in a super comfortable and spacious apartment. Marie is a very welcoming, friendly and generous host who showed us around upon arrival and had already lit up the fireplace for us in the living room which made the apartment so cosy and warm. She also provided supplies for breakfast including eggs, milk, bread, butter, etc. and complimentary tickets to visit the Kerry Cliffs across the road. We had everything we needed for our stay. The apartment was super quiet and the beds were really comfortable. Highly recommend staying here and we would definitely return!

Amazing location with Comfortable Accommodations!

The apartment was convenient with less than a 5 minute drive to the downtown Portmagee, and we were still able to wake up in the stunning countryside of Southwest Ireland. The review would be incomplete without mentioning the amazing hospitality of the property manager Marie. She was flexible and responsive to our very delayed check-in and was considerate for our entire stay. I highly recommend this location for anyone looking enjoy the Skellig Michael experience and people looking to enjoy local beaches and chocolate factory.

I was not familiar with how to use air drop, so I had a hard time locating the house. Again to demonstrate Marie's kindness, she stood on the side of the road during the night with a flashlight, so I would know where to find the house.

Excellent location for Kerry Cliffs

Great place to stay. Exactly as described and shown on the photos. Very warm welcome. The host even provided bread and fresh eggs. Entry vouchers included for the Kerry Cliffs which are just across the street. Stunning and a must see. Safe parking at the house. Both bedrooms have an en suite bathroom. Very quite for restful nights.

Such a pleasant place to stay near Skellig Michael!

Clean, comfortable, spacious apartment, with a super friendly and helpful owner. We really appreciated the nice touches like eggs, milk, bread and cheese, and the free tickets to the cliffs (not to be missed! They were spectacular as promised). And where else can you see two cute donkeys? A great base for exploring this beautiful part of Ireland.

We loved staying here - such a warm welcome and a great location.

Our host Marie was so lovely - she was so welcoming and friendly. We loved the location - close to Portmagee and in walking distance of the Kerry Cliffs. We loved meeting the animals who live here- particularly the donkeys!

Lovely stay in Portmagee!

We had excellent communication from Marie. We were greeted on arrival and provided with bread, eggs and milk for our stay. The location was super, a short walk to Portmagee and we were given a voucher to the local cliffs! Lovely apartment and the donkeys on site were great!! I would highly recommend for a trip to Portmagee!

Wknd trip

Host was so welcoming and friendly. Accommodation was perfect for what we needed. Host left eggs, mill, bread and other bits for us which was a lovely touch. About 5 mins to village driving, 2 mins walk to the cliffs and the most stunning views. All was clean and comfortable.

Best place to stay in the ring of Kerry!

The fab location near the private Kerry Cliffs and scenic spots were second to none. There was a loaf of bread, eggs and milk for us on arrival. Marie was a very friendly host and gave us free tickets to the spectacular cliffs which were only a few minutes away. Very good facilities - lovely shower, high quality stove giving plenty of cozy heat and proper beds, slept really well and quiet location. Easy access for our dogs. Short drive to Portmagee and Valentia island.

Renovation works right next door was rather unsightful and could pose a hazard with construction materials and a pothole just outside. Should be cordonned off. No work went on while we were there, so no noise thankfully.

Superb

Beautiful area-watched a glorious sunrise with sheep 🐑 bleating in the background! Exactly what I wanted to see. Located very close to Cliffs of Kerry and Portmagee-the launch point for our visit to Skellig Michael. It was a highlight of our 10 day visit.

Lovely place to stay and fab location 😀

We stayed in one of apartments with our two dogs for 3 nights. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay. The fire place was lovely after a day of rain and the complimentary breakfast bits were an added bonus. Marie was kind enough to also leave 2 entrance tickets to the Kerry Cliffs which were absolutely stunning and a joy to visit. The apartment is easily accessible to local attractions and stores. A great place to relax and unwind. We enjoyed our time there. Thank you.

Convenient for the Kerry Cliffs

Brilliant location opposite the entrance to the Kerry Cliffs. Marie was super helpful and friendly, she also left us food to make a simple breakfast which we were very grateful for. Only a 5 minute drive from Portmagee. Would stay again

Wifi was a little spotty, it wasn't an issue for us, but if you are planning to rely on it there could be an issue.

The hostess was amazing. She had the fire lit as it was a cold day, so we arrived to a warm and cosy apartment. There was plenty of food for breakfast and we even had a packet of chocolate biscuits. This apartment has everything you need.

fitted our purpose. two double bedrooms with showers and lovely wood burner. Unexpectedly the owner had left a good selection of goodies to make our breakfast. Lovely and thoughtful.

it needs a little general maintenance, like loose shower fittings and scuffed skirting boards etc and there is no view, which is a little misleading from the website picture. the lack of view is mainly due to vehicles parking in front of the accommodation.

Great visit to Portmagee

Marie was a fantastic welcoming host. She could not do enough for us. She had a solid fuel stove lit when we arrived, had the fridge stocked with starter pack of food for our stay and gave some very good recommendations. She also gives a complimentary pass to the Kerry Cliffs which is situated close by and it's well worth going to. Accommodation is approximately 2km from Port Magee Village. We would highly recommend visit around Skellig Michael if it is possible weather wise. Would also highly recommend fisherman Bar Restaurant which has very good fish and seafood at reasonable prices.

It was ok, but not what we were expecting.

Marie and Gloria were very welcoming, really kind and lovely people. Bread, eggs, cheese etc left there for us to make our own breakfast. Spacious bungalow. It was warm and cosy when we arrived.

Lighting far too bright. Floor of shower room uncomfortable to walk on. Very close to owner's house, security light kept coming on through the night. No sea view - from the booking. com description we expected to be able to see the Skelling islands and the sea.

The owner had thoughtfully left some breakfast provisions which were gratefully received and lit a fire which had thoroughly warmed up the flat before we arrived.

A very pleasant experience.

I was delighted with the apartment. Marie, the host lit the fire prior to my arrival and this really made a difference as I was so cold and tired from traveling for several hours. Although my stay was very short I enjoyed being there. Definitely, I will book again and I will make sure that I will have a longer stay.

Great value for the money, cozy place with enough space for groups/families

Great cozy living/common room with a fireplace. The host already had lit a fire when we arrived. The small kitchen integrated into the main living room has all that is needed, a microwave, dish washer, small stove, sink, fridge, toaster, enough storage space and more.

Exactly what we wanted from our getaway.

Location is incredible, and the host is very nice and knows a lot about the local area. Very friendly to all their guests. Very cute dogs of their own. Happy to welcome us with our pet, which was key for our stay. Free entry to cliff walks a bonus.
