    It was our second stay in Pickalbatros and after having stayed at the Palace the first time, we decided to try Sands. Unfortunately, we were shocked to be greeted by an aquapark instead of the gorgeous tennis courts and the mini golf that once stood there.. How disappointed we were when we realized that only one out of THREE original courts was left, and it was right INSIDE the aquapark! You can imagine the noise of the water slides and the kids until about 6pm!! Terrible for anyone looking to enjoy a tennis game :-( Besides this huge disappointment, the resort still maintains great food quality and variety, the room was nice and had all we needed even though it wasn't nearly as spacious or beautiful as the Palace's room. Another big disappointment we experienced unfortunately was the weather conditions since there was a red flag during most of our 6-night stay! Of course it's not the resort's fault, but guests have to always remember that Marsa Alam is risky all year long when it comes to sea conditions :-\ When it's good though, we know from previous experience that it's actually a great area to snorkel in, especially if you are experienced snorkelers and you go just outside the resort to the adjacent lagoon where underwater life is phenomenal. Just be VERY CAREFUL and ONLY go there when the sea is CALM. Trust us, you do not want to risk it.
