The location, to us, was deceptive because we approached from the docklands side. Once round the front facing Birkenhead it was fine. The rooms are very well appointed and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was lovely and served by the charming and sociable host.

Friendly and helpful staff, location near the ferry, breakfast excellent, room clean and bathroom recently furnished.
Stairs and complex doors without lifts to get suitcases to the room. Bed very soft and not so comfortable. Room hot and bedding more for winter than summer.

We didn't stay. Area run down, public areas in need of decoration - very institutional looking. Room ok but very small and cramped. Owner friendly but we just didn't feel comfortable so decided to drive home a day early.
