There are iconic Cape Cod destinations minutes away from this central location: the Cape Cod Rail Trail, Nickerson State Park with hiking, biking and swimming & boating on pristine kettle ponds, golf courses, restaurants, National Seashore beaches, and shopping on Chatham’s main street. The Nantucket ferry goes out of nearby Harwich Port. The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History and the Cape Cod Museum of Art are close at hand, along with an abundance of great live theater productions.

The deck is all set as an outside dining area with a gas grill. There is a large, fun outdoor shower to use in the clear Cape sunshine or even under the stars! The house comes with wifi, cable & DVD player with tons of movies, a game and puzzle cabinet and a beach gear closet.

The location of the home was perfect. In general, the home was clean (normal wear and tear) and had everything we needed. We appreciated the green cleaning products. The listing did say there would be six beach chairs available, but there were only three. There was one bag of garbage that had been left in the garbage container outside that smelled bad, but when we called about this, it was taken care of the next morning. We really appreciated the large bulletin board of information on things to do on Cape Cod and also the little note cards throughout the house with tips on how to use things, etc. The biggest issue we had was with the number of turkeys in the yard. We counted 12 of them and they were roosting in the trees on the property and on the property next door. They also continually landed on the roof of the home. We love turkeys, but there were turkey feathers and turkey poop droppings everywhere (on the walkway, on the back deck, on the outdoor furniture, and inside the outdoor shower.) This represents a potential health hazard, given what birds can carry. It looks like the neighbor is feeding the turkeys, which of course, doesn't help. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in the home and had a great vacation. Not sure if we would stay again in this home, only because of the turkeys. Thank you.

This is a great house for a family visiting on the Cape, with easy access to bay beaches, the shops and restaurants of 6A, and all of the Cape via 6. The garden is beautiful and quiet, full of bunnies and birds. Highly recommend this quiet, relaxing home.

The property is older and the grounds are completely overgrown and covered in turkey feathers and poop. The house has bedroom air conditioners only. Kitchen and bathroom were reasonably clean, and I always appreciate when owners provide hooks for hanging towels and clothing. Outdoor shower was too gross for anyone to want to use. Mattresses were comfortable. Carpets and furniture were very grungy; I had to put a blanket over the chair in the living room to not get grossed out sitting there. If you are used to VRBOs in the rest of the country, be advised that on the Cape you are expected to bring your own sheets (or rent inferior quality ones) as well as towels for the bath, beach, and kitchen. The modern washing machine seemed to work well, and I ran a batch of towels before I left, but when I took them out they smelled like a terrible combination of mold and burnt rubber. I had to wash them twice more at home to get rid of the smell. Dryer vents probably also need some maintenance because they needed four cycles to dry properly. I would have hung them outside (clothesline is a nice, eco-friendly touch) but it was a very rainy week. Overall, I rented this property because the location was perfect for us to visit family in the area, but the property was pretty unimpressive (although unfortunately pretty typical of other-also overpriced-rental experiences in the area) in and of itself. Appreciated the owner's quick response when we had a couple of issues.
