This condo was very comfortable, and the location at the end of the Kure Beach strip was great was perfect for us (two older adults). Walkway to Ft. Fisher was steps away, as was a small area of beach. The walkway also led to a wide beach further up. Beautiful view from our side of the building (see photo). The balcony was so comfortable and close to the ocean, it was like sitting on the beach except cooler and less sandy!Although the condo has a great bunkbed setup, not sure the location would appeal to people with small children. The ocean comes right up to the building, and the beach to the left of the building is fairly narrow and eroded. Big rocks all along it.Was less than impressed with Vacasa. Despite the many emails and texts, our key code didn't work, the router and other electronics were unplugged and difficult to reassemble, the wi-fi name and password were wrong, and the parking pass wasn't where it was supposed to be. We got prompt assistance when we called about each of these issues; however, checkout instructions sent on the last day contradicted what had been sent earlier and what was posted. I couldn't get a response from customer service until 1.5 hours after we checked out (Sunday). We ended up doing more "chores" than we needed to.Despite that, we'd come back just because of the sweet condo and the great location.

This unit is one of three ocean-front at the southernmost end of Pleasure Island, and staying here was lovely. The building is steps away from the beginning of Ft. Fisher state park, so you don't have neighbors to the right. It also pushes the boundaries of "ocean-front", as high tide nearly touches the building foundations. If you love the sound of the surf, you'll be happy here.I was there in the off-season, so the quiet I had probably isn't the case during the summer, but the condo complex wasn't overwhelming large.The unit itself is on the older side, but it's clearly been recently updated and decorated so it's very comfortable and just pleasant to wake up in. Check-in was very easy, no problems, and everything was clean and tidy when I arrived.I wish I could have stayed longer!

Location is decent and the unit is nicely decorated. But that’s about it. Everything else is very basic and nothing special.
