The Herring's Residence - Stylish Private Cottage with Breakfast in Historic Center - Adults-Only

This is an elegant small house with total privacy. It’s like being at home away from home. The breakfast is delicious, it’s very cosy. If you need some rest and relaxation, this is a perfect space.

Everything was exceptional. Maryke met us on arrival and explained everything from how breakfast would be served to the places to visit. She brought fresh pastries, bread, smoothies and freshly squeezed juice each morning and also left a supply of cheese, meat and eggs in the fridge. The property was lovely with a lounge, kitchen, dining room and outside courtyard while the bedroom and bathroom were upstairs. Although this cottage was close to Maryke’s house, it felt very private and separate.

We loved everything but the stairs to the bedroom were narrow and might be difficult for some people.

Its like being resident of Bruges for a weekend if you stay here. Breakfast is freshly served in a basket every morning and by fresh I mean truly fresh. Superb quality breakfast! Variation was very welcome too, every morning there was different, but equally great foodtypes like croissaints and buns. The bedroom is airconditioned, wich is a huge bonus. I really felt at home here in the city because of this little house. The location is perfect: right in the city centre, just a few minutes walk to the shopping streets and cafés. Its a cute little house that felt very cozy. It also has a small outside patio with seating for 2. Its perfect for couples, very romantic. The hostess is extremely friendly, privacy minded and personal, we got a handwritten card thanking us for our stay, just as an example.

The couch is a little small for 2, considering its romantic nature, a bigger, soft, cozy couch would suit it a little better. As opposed to the small couch and 2 chairs it has now.

Maryke and her husband Philippe are exceptional hosts who have thought of everything. Arriving to a beautiful cottage with homemade cake, a stocked fridge with water, cheeses, prosciutto, bacon, butter, jams and eggs was a lovely surprise. The daily breakfast delivery of pastries, juices, smoothies etc were a true delight, as was the never ending supply of coffee pods. Maryke was extremely helpful with any questions and asking if there was anything else we needed. Possibly the best accommodation we have ever stayed in. Thank you Brooke and Hamish
