Summary:
Waylon is a cozy cabin that comfortably sleeps 2 people. In the living area, a comfy couch awaits you for a glass of wine in front of the charming indoor fireplace. Or, after the sun sets, saunter out to the front deck where you will be greeted by a warm, inviting hot tub, and a charming glass-filled firepit. Prepare to be dazzled by the sparkling Texas Hill Country stars! When the sun rises, enjoy a morning meander down the manicured trail network that leads to a beautifully shimmering pond!
The Space:
Another of Waylon’s appealing attributes is its kitchen’s appointment of quality appliances and dinnerware. This kitchen comes stocked with a full complement of plate ware, flatware, glassware, wine glasses, and many other little necessities for those wishing to cook or dine in.
At the end of the night, after a great day at the local wineries, Waylon’s bedroom offers hotel-quality luxurious bedding and the latest in mattress technology that provides an exceptionally recuperative night of sleep. Lay your head back and let yourself drift off to sleep, in preparation for yet another great day in Fredericksburg!
Waylon serves as an exceptionally romantic venue for couples who are looking for a tranquil, peaceful setting. It also serves well as additional lodging for larger groups that need more space than they're currently occupying in the neighboring Glad Heart guesthouses. Equally important, its private location is just four miles from Main Street, ensuring you easy access and an unforgettable Fredericksburg experience!
Guest Access:
✅ This property has special local compliance requirements which include a signed rental agreement, ID verification, and a security hold of $1000 (which is not a traditional security deposit, just a pending transaction). As an optional alternative to the security hold, you may opt in to purchase a non-refundable damage waiver provided by a third-party insurance company. The optional damage waiver is $53 for stays up to 10 nights, with an additional $1.5 per day for stays longer than 10 nights. Damage waiver purchases are optional.
To make this process easy for you, we use a secure and very simple, app-free platform. It is not an app, and you do not have to sign up for an account - it’s a safe and secure website. It also gives you a guest portal with all the info about the home and all of my favorite local spots.
The Neighborhood:
Downtown Fredericksburg offers world class restaurants, wineries and great shopping. They didn’t forget about the beer lovers either. Tons of local pubs offering an abundant selection of imported beers and locally brewed options as well. There are tons of things do for all ages and Fredericksburg is full of history. Whether it be a romantic getaway for two, multiple couples, families, bachelorette or bachelor parties, private events or small weddings, Gladheart can accommodate your needs.

Other Things to Note:
-There are outdoor cats on the property that you may encounter during your stay.
-In Texas, there are periods of time without significant rainfall causing the county of Gillespie to place a ban on burning. Please check the current burn ban status, before using the fire pit at a Fredericksburg area vacation rental.
- Utilize the designated parking spaces at your vacation rental.
-Place all trash in designated containers.
- Please be aware that the Texas Hill Country can experience high heat and drought during the summer, which can attract pests to the exterior lights at night. Our properties receive extermination, but guests may encounter pests such as cockroaches, mosquitoes, flies, Rolly Pollies (pill bugs), June bugs, small ants, and spiders, as well as occasional scorpions and small rodents. These are normal critters that come regardless of cleanliness or availability of food.

We have a 24/7 team dedicated to our rentals in Fredericksburg and our local property manager is available to be at the property.

Private hot tub is great after hiking Enchanted Rock. Peaceful location and close to downtown and breweries. Wineries too if you're into that.

We had an amazing time away from life and kids so don’t let this sound negative at all. Everything was wonderful but maybe put up a better privacy wall that’s all.

We enjoyed our stay in this tiny little house. Perfect size for just my husband and I. Quiet and clean. Only complaint was that some maintenance was needed on the building. Smoke detector was missing, some windows were left open and took some work to get them to close and lock. Hot tub could stand to be replaced. There was a scorched pot in the kitchen.
