Hill Country River Ranch is a working sheep ranch located 3 miles from Main Street, Fredericksburg, Texas . The "Ranch House" is a 3 bedroom 2 bath house. On the same property, we have a total of 5 houses, cabins, and cottages to choose from. In addition, we have an event center. Looking for a wedding venue in Fredericksburg? We are ideal for that. We are set up for family reunions, church and corporate retreats with 28 acres to use. We have river frontage that is ideal for picnics, swimming and family games. The dance hall is great as a meeting place with a kitchen. Hill Country River Ranch is somewhere between a resort and a bed and breakfast in Fredericksburg, Texas. We offer bicycles, kayaks, fire pits, barbecue pits (gas and charcoal), picnic tables and games. Interacting with our farm animals is fun for kids of all ages. Being just outside of Fredericksburg and close to Hwy 87 makes vineyards, peach orchards, shopping, restaurants, and Luckenbach easy to get to.

The house was a cute farm style and great for our large family of mang ages. Minor flaws like broken blinds and air filter dirty. The goats and donkeys were a hit with the kids. We will Definitely be going back I just hope the game room is open for this stay. Also note staff was very responsive and nice.

We loved the porch! Lots of great visiting space. We cooked meals and had all the supplies we needed. Even baked homemade bread for our daughter to take back to college. Our only issue was some of us are a bit older and the soft mattresses caused some stiffness of a morning! The master bathroom is a great space. Love the historical touches!

Our stay at the Shady House was phenomenal. Every room was clean. The house was well equipped with all things needed in case we forgot at home. Thank you for all the snacks you provided. Those helped when we were waiting to have dinner.
