The place was exactly how it was shown on the photos. We enjoyed the jacuzzi. The breakfast provided was good. There were a lot of deer all over the property. Will definitely come back.

We were greeted with chocolate chip cookies and a glass of wine and seltzer, while the property owners fed a herd of deer out in front of an amazingly beautiful canyon scape. The was more deer feed at the cabin, which we sprinkled in the meadow out front, and had lots of deer visitors which we enjoyed watching. We had questions about how to get to a favorite peach stand, which our hosts answered quite expertly with detailed directions. Breakfast was supreme, with farm fresh eggs, biscuit dough, berries, and canadian bacon all stocked in the fridge, ready for us to make ourselves.

Walnut Canyon Cabins were a wonderful stop on our way back home. We so enjoyed sitting on the back deck watching the deer, birds, and other wildlife in a tranquil setting. The cabin is cozy and comfortable and stocked with many amenities including fresh eggs, tasty bacon, coffee, and biscuits. WC Cabins really delivered on its promises.

The hospitality and arrival welcome was very pleasing and sincere. Awesome place and close to surrounding events. Loved feeding the local deer, sun rises and sunsets beautiful. The stars at nite are so bright. Great nature trail and viewing of Mexican bats in the seasonal evenings within 10 minutes. We will be back when in the area.

What a wonderful gem tucked away in Hill Country. We were looking for a place that is dog-friendly, comfortable, and quiet. Walnut Canyon Cabins is the perfect choice for all this and more! The owners are so welcoming and knowledgeable. They had treats for our pup and homemade chocolates to help us celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary. The cabin was perfect! So clean and accommodating. Farm fresh eggs from their chickens, biscuit dough, fresh ham, and more were all provided. The bed was comfortable and so was the furniture. We were given deer feed and what an amazing experience! We had 6 deer including one baby that came right up and fed. We also were able to see the chickens roam and feed the cows and horse on the property as well. As an avid animal lover, this made my trip! The view from our cabin was absolutely incredible! Do yourself a favor and just stay here. You will not be disappointed. We are already planning our trip back. At the base of the main road is Old Tunnel State Park. The views are breathtaking! It’s just a short drive to restaurants and grocery stores as well as shopping and so much beautiful architecture. We visited the National Museum of the Pacific War as well as Stonehenge and so many other beautiful attractions.

Terrific host and property! Tucked away cabins on a private property. Just minutes from town and close to wineries. Carl and Rhonda greeted us with a glass of wine upon arrival, stocked our fridge with fresh farm eggs, biscuits, ham and fresh fruit. We would definitely rent again.

What a great experience for our best friend’s bachelorette. The cabin is very cozy and the hosts (Carl & Rhonda) are so thoughtful providing us with breakfast foods, robes, and even an extra space heater. Very friendly and helpful owners, lovely to have a full kitchen with fresh breakfast fixings. The owners even supply deer corn so that guests can feed the deer who visit in the evenings! A lovely get-away location (note: Fredericksburg is about a 20-30 minute drive away, so be sure to stock groceries for your stay!).

What an incredible memorable place! Everything was beautiful and thoughtful. We decided to take a quick day trip to the Hill country and I have been looking for a place where I can create memories for my kids and family. I didn't just want to book a boring hotel room so I looked around and found "Walnut Canyon Cabins" in Fredericksburg, TX. This was one of the most memorable places ever! The cabin and grounds were beautiful, the views were breathtaking! Carl asked the kids to help collect eggs. This made their day! This is exactly what I was dreaming to find!! We spent the evening feeding deer right out of the balcony. It was so peaceful! In the morning the hosts supplied us with fresh items for breakfast. I had never had locally smoked smoked Canadian bacon before, but it was amazing! They also left fresh fruit, farm fresh eggs, locally roasted coffee, biscuit dough, honey, butter, jam, etc. This made a tasty breakfast before we went out to climb Enchanted Rock. If you are trying to escape the city and connect with your family, this is the place. WE WILL be back!!! Hopefully next time we will have a few more days to stay. We will also tell EVERYONE we know about this magical place.

This was a great experience for us . Carl and Rhonda are the nicest friendliest people we have met . Their hospitality was superior and the best part was getting to feed the deer they are so beautiful. The extra little things like fresh eggs bacon and coffee and deer corn for the deer was excellent . Staying in the Milky Way Cabin at Walnut Canyon was simply AMAZING. The nicest accommodation I have ever stayed at, and I am saying this after traveling around the globe over 10-times and staying at hundreds of places. The owner was super-nice, the cabin was very tastefully and thoughtfully decorated, highly functional, the views on the Milky Way and nature from the roof-top were breathtaking, and relaxing in the hot-tub in the evening was a very happy surprise. I rarely write reviews, but had to write this one. Thank you!
