Lots of little gems (hikes, shops, swim spots etc) around this area . Picture is from hike about 20 min away from house, with great views overlooking Shawnigan lake!

This beautiful gem is perfectly located at Shawnigan Lake, approximately 30 min from downtown Victoria. This property comes fully equipped with a kitchen, BBQ, king size bed, patio, and a hot tub. And of course, Ruby the Doodle is an extra addition to the full suite of amenities, offering security, taste testing, and companionship. We really enjoyed staying at this property and we would recommend this home away from home to anyone! Thank you Sylvain!!!

My son was competing in a rowing regatta at the West Shawnigan park. This was the perfect location, close to the park, quiet and cozy to retreat to after the races! We also really enjoyed the daily visits from Ruby!

The house and yard are exactly as described. The suite was so comfortable and spacious. The flowers were just starting to come up but I’m sure they look as great as the pics show once fully bloomed. We got to enjoy the hot tub for a few nights and the outdoor fire table when the weather prevented us to relax in the tub. Ruby was the best co-host anyone could ask for. Sweet, cuddly, playful and funny are just a few words to describe this amazing pup. We looked forward to all her visits, especially the morning ones. Would definitely stay here again.

The indoor space was so cozy and bright with lots of windows and an eclectic fireplace. The outdoor space was spacious and beautiful. We love dogs and every morning Ruby came to greet us. The weather wasn't ideal while we visited but looking forward to going back when the sun is out.

We, a party of three with dogs had a great stay. The house had everything we need for a 2-day stay. The courtyard setting had a great ambiance, very welcoming and relaxing, just like in the pictures. What I enjoyed most is having my dog lying on one side and Ruby, the house dog, on the other side with me, listening to the soothing flow of water cascading from the fountain next to us. That’s my version of a mini vacation ! Thank you Sylvain and Ruby, the best four-legged hostess!

Enjoyed our stay. Great amenities, we used the bbq, hot tub & yard was big & fenced. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to use the outdoor space which included a fire table & a outdoor covered seating area looked really nice. Hopefully, next time when the weather is warmer. We enjoyed staying here! If you are looking for a nice quiet get-away in the Shawnigan Lake area, this is it. A nice big comfy bed, beautiful gas fireplace, and a big kitchen. We also liked the outdoor patio area and fenced yard. Ruby the resident doggo was especially sweet and happy to meet us. Check-in process was simple and painless😊. We'd definitely stay here again!

Great communication for our stay. Pictures are accurate and exactly as posted. Hot tub, barbeque, outdoor fire & comfy couches on the covered deck are bonus. Sylvain & Karen were available for any questions when needed. Of course sweet Ruby is an added bonus - esp for our pup who eagerly waited to see her come down the stairs. Our desire was to enjoy the last weekend of summer outside so we chose this place. We spent most of the weekend around the outdoor fire on comfy couches under cozy blankets. The backyard is gorgeous and you can enjoy it rain or shine. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. Everything is clean and comfortable. My husband and I decided we needed to get away for an anniversary celebration and wanted to take our dog. After hunting through listings, we found this place in the Shawnigan Lake area that had a fenced yard and welcomed dogs. We are so glad we found this location. It was perfect for us and our dog. We arrived to discover a "Happy Anniversary" banner over the little fireplace and some chocolates. So very kind! The apartment itself is on the lower floor of the house and is very well appointed. Everything one could want in the kitchen and the place was spotless. The outdoor seating area was really well laid out but we didn't use it due to the snow and hail. We could have put on the heaters, but we were quite cosy in the apartment itself. The backyard was ideal for our dog and she thought Ruby, the resident dog, was wonderful although I think Ruby wasn't as thrilled with the young, bouncy border collie. Once our dog understood that Ruby didn't want to wrestle, they happily coexisted. The location was great for us to do some hikes each day. Good access to the Kinsol Trestle, the Cobble Hill Mountain Regional Recreational Area and Old Baldy mountain. Also there were plenty of restaurants and vineyards to visit where we could celebrate our hikes and anniversary. All in all we had a wonderful stay and would enthusiastically recommend this listing to others.

We just needed a place to stay while we worked near by, the bonus was that our dog could be off leash in a fenced Yard. Ruby the golden doodle is the sweetest soul and she was so patient and understanding with our crazy dog. Overall a very good experience and a super cozy comfy place.

From the very well equipped indoor spaces to an incredible outdoor pace, this place has it all! Our 2 dogs were very happy here - a huge yard and friendly Ruby to play with! We will be back! We had a great time. Wasp issues but that's everywhere. The Murphy bed was a challenge as our pillows were constantly falling behind the head of the bed. Really enjoyed the Bose stereo system and the beautiful outdoor setting. All in all a relaxing time with terrific amenities. I would definitely recommend staying here.

This was the perfect place to stay for us as our daughter was getting married by the kinsol trestle. The patio was a beautiful place to relax in the evening. We like it so much that the groom, his dad and grandfather joined me, my son and grandson for our pre wedding photos of us getting ready. Very nice and accommodating owners.

It is a quiet home base while attending MISSA and doing a tour of island. Groceries, Victoria, Saanich, Parksville, Qualicum all in drivable distance. Had use of patio area, fire table, bbq. Kitchen has functional stove, large fridge and dishwasher with cookware, utensils and dishes provided. The lake access area and MISSA is a short drive away. The owners whose place is above the rental have a wonderful dog Ruby that would come visit from upstairs. There is also a cute cat that would come by. Even so it felt very private. Quiet time starts at 10pm which was quite alright with us as we were up early and in bed early. The speed limit is 50km on the roads but the locals drive around 80 or more. There are lots of people who walk and bike on shoulder of narrow roads so I didn’t feel comfortable driving too fast and would pull over to let the speed demons get on their way. All in all a friendly hosts and area.
