About this cabin rental
NOTE: 4WD/AWD required in winter (December through mid March).
Enjoy end-of-the-road privacy in this quintessential Colorado river cabin located within a 20 minute drive from Durango. In the mountains and on the Florida river, this is a great location as "base camp" while enjoying all that the Durango area has to offer.
It’s all about the riverfront location! Outside, the wraparound deck is a great place to enjoy morning coffee, relax in the rocking chairs or fish, and it’s a great place to view the starry night skies. Fall foliage is spectacular with aspen and other seasonal trees surrounding the home, and winter snow creates a unique mountain getaway at this home.
The cabin layout includes the main level with kitchen, living room, dining room and the large deck at river's edge, with both a covered section containing rocking chairs and benches, and an open area with picnic table, BBQ grill chiminea fireplace and steps leading to the lawn and riverbank beyond. The open living area and deck make a fine gathering place for friends and family. There is an AC Unit in the upstairs bedroom.

The cabin is not pet friendly - please do not bring pets or emotional service animals.
With Vallecito Lake a 15 minute drive, and Lemon Lake 8 minute drive from the home, you have easy access to robust fishing, boating, and paddle boarding. This home has very limited cell service.
Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities.

Great week on the river! This place is the perfect river getaway, you won't be disappointed! Went with some long time friends and enjoyed every minute. The house location is unmatched, almost hanging over the river. A short drive from Durango, easy access from the road and you'll hear nothing but the river at the house. Theres 2 separate bedrooms with king and queen, also 2 twins tucked in the loft, a bit tight there but doable. Bathrooms are okay, plenty of towels, water hot, pressure decent. Washer and dryer nice bonus! The couch is not pullout, you could sleep on it I suppose. Theres a gas fireplace, heats up fast and puts out the heat, no AC but we opened windows and the nights got cold, very nice. Kitchen is well stocked ,has drip coffee maker and a Keurig, iron skillets, pots pans, all we needed was there. Lots plates, silverware, glassware etc. Bring ziplocs, saran wrap and tinfoil if you want, or buy in Durango on your grocery run. Theres a propane grill on the deck, complete with spare tank if needed and plentiful seating to just enjoy the outdoors and hang out. A good size TV (55?) but we didnt really use it much, cant speak to channels, NFlix and others apps available tho. Called the number provided once to ask a question, answered on 2nd ring, thanks for attentive communication! Really enjoyed this getaway house and quiet neighborhood, I will definitely keep on my list for future visits!

Place was ready for us when we got there. It was exactly as it was described. Although there isn't ac for the cabin, the river next to it does an excellent job cooling the place at night. The neighbors are a little standoffish. It was a great place to stay if you want to visit treasure falls, Mesa verde, four corners, pegosa hot springs, Telluride, Silverton, etc. So much better than a hotel room, it felt like home.

The porch and view were exceptional. The amenities needed updating. The primary shower would not shut off. We had to push in and turn to finally get it to turn off. There were multiple heat sources in the residence that were not very user friendly. If they had something in writing giving directions I think it would be a whole lot better for the next rental. We reached out and they were willing to come out the next day to assist, but we didn’t want to sit around. We wanted to enjoy our vacation. We just used extra blankets. The porch was the centerpiece and it was amazing to sit and listen to the water rushing in the creek.
