Goldenhill Retreats

Host was excellent. Had a bit of issue at the start but was solved in an instant. I occupied the podcast a one bed accommodation suitable for solo travelers.

Transport. I depend on taxi but uber only operates if you pay then 3 x the usual fare. Dont blame them though. Local taxis needed to be precooked. There's no local bus that passes outside the accomodation. But the place is lovely and quite.

Location was ideal if visiting Bamburgh Castle Hot Tub

Getting taxis was challenging No Breakfast option and no restaurants/ shops nearby

Quiet but could walk into Bamburgh easily.

The beds were comfy and bedding and towels were good and smelt great! The location was great, very quiet and very easy to find and only a short drive to Bamburgh. Tea, coffee provided in room. Good Tv with Netflix, Prime etc

The grounds look a little tired, not new like the photos showed. We didn’t see anyone use the hot tub and didn’t feel comfortable using it as it was situated right in the middle of 2 other pods that were occupied. The fan in the bathroom was very noisy and took a while to switch off so didn’t really use the light in the bathroom. The shower was ok but kept losing power. No hand soap provided in the bathroom. There was a kettle provided but it was too large to fit under the tap in the bathroom so had to fill it up with cups of water which was annoying. The fridge was a good size but kept recycling/cooling which was noisy and this went on even through the night. The pods have blinds at the windows which are good for privacy but let nearly all of the light through in the morning so was awake before 6am each morning. The most annoying thing was being expected to empty the bins and take the bedding off ourselves before leaving before 10am!
