Lampshade was cracked, limescale in kettle, outdoor sink to fill kettle hasnt been cleaned in along time, wallpaper pealing in places. No WIFI for lodges.

Lovely location but expensive for just a room

The beds were comfy and bedding and towels were good and smelt great! The location was great, very quiet and very easy to find and only a short drive to Bamburgh. Tea, coffee provided in room. Good Tv with Netflix, Prime etc

The grounds look a little tired, not new like the photos showed. We didn’t see anyone use the hot tub and didn’t feel comfortable using it as it was situated right in the middle of 2 other pods that were occupied. The fan in the bathroom was very noisy and took a while to switch off so didn’t really use the light in the bathroom. The shower was ok but kept losing power. No hand soap provided in the bathroom. There was a kettle provided but it was too large to fit under the tap in the bathroom so had to fill it up with cups of water which was annoying. The fridge was a good size but kept recycling/cooling which was noisy and this went on even through the night. The pods have blinds at the windows which are good for privacy but let nearly all of the light through in the morning so was awake before 6am each morning. The most annoying thing was being expected to empty the bins and take the bedding off ourselves before leaving before 10am!

Perfect, cosy, short stay with lovely hosts

Warmest of welcomes from Caroline and the family dog. Neat & cosy, comfortable lodge spaces, hot tub, sitting out in the courtyard in the evening and great indoor area to use for making & taking your own breakfast or other meals. The location was great in the peaceful ‘countryside’ with easy drive to Bamborough & Lindesfarne.

Some people may have preferred breakfast included but we didn’t mind bringing our own as there was plenty of warning.

Breakfast not included, which I knew. Location was lovely but satnav took me to BAMBURGH BREAKS before I found Goldenhill. Room and shower room were spotlessly clean and bed very comfortable.

Needed better bedside light for reading in bed. Accommodation was as described but a bit expensive for what it was.

Lovely peaceful location, convenient for exploring the area.

Lovely location. On arrival, we were upgraded from a room in the main house the first night, to a chalet for our last two nights, which had the added facility of a kitchenette. Caroline made us feel very welcome and was there if we needed anything. There was a fan in our room, which came in very handy, as it was quite a warm couple of days.

The only minor thing was, it was a Bamburgh address but Belford by the postcode. Despite very precise instructions from Caroline on how to find the place, we drove around in circles trying to find it! We realised later we had probably turned off from the main road a little early. Her instructions were perfect! Everything else was great.

Pleasant accommodation in a good area.

The owner was very pleasant, kind and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable with tea/coffee-making facilities. It's a good quiet location convenient for Bamburgh, Seahouses and Lindisfarne and I liked the sound of sheep, cows and hens in the morning. There was a hot tub (free) and a sauna (pay extra). Wifi was excellent.

The room descriptions said "Flat screen TV" - this was not in the rooms but in a communal dining/seating area. The bathroom and toilet were described as shared and this was understood to mean shared between the two rooms - however the bathroom was also used by at least one workman/builder on the site and could have been used by other guests/visitors. The facilities for preparing food were inadequate although it was kind of the owner to provide a microwave and some cutlery and plates. This meant realistically having three meals outside. The locks on the doors were annoyingly very hard to lock over 3 days and needed attention (WD40?) Taking all this into account I wasn't satisfied with the cost of the accommodation.

Our weekend away was amazing and peaceful.

We loved that it was out of the way, loved that it was peaceful. Caroline made us feel super welcome, the packs that are provided in the room with so information that you don’t have to try and Google.

The property was well located and the facilities were great, cabin was very clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed. Only issue was the key safe and getting into the cabin, but that was all resolved pretty easily.

The only thing that let the accommodation down a little was that we weren’t sure which lodge was ours as that hadn’t been communicated with us prior to arrival and the key safe didn’t work, so we had to wait until someone came to help us out but it was all resolved quickly and we didn’t have any other problems.Once we were in, we were very impressed by the accommodation.

A real rural retreat in North Cumbria, with lots of local interests within driving distance

This was an oasis in a rural setting The chalets were extremely comfortable The staff went out their way to ensure we had all the comforts. The dog Gunna, was an extra bonus, being there for extra entertainment

Lovely Stay Near Bamburgh

The location is beautiful, very peaceful, and perfect for visiting Bamburgh and the surrounding area. I stayed in one of the one person pods which was perfect for what I needed for a two night stay. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. I'd happily stay here again and thoroughly recommend it.

The spacious, spotless and well equipped bathroom, and the use of a sitting room area with a water heater.

The property was in a great position for visiting the various sights In Northumberland. The accommodation was great, very clean, quiet and comfortable (lovely fluffy towels). Our hosts were very welcoming and made some great recommendations of places to visit, which we did and enjoyed.

Liked it all, though struggled to get a taxi.

We loved everything about the property, it was so quiet and peaceful, the hot tub was an amazing feature. Plenty of space in the lodge, comfortable beds, clean, great facilities. Fantastic location, 5 minutes drive or 40 minutes walk into Bamburgh. Very welcoming.

Icebox cold in a tired, small static caravan/room.

Billy was very pleasant and wanted to help. The pictures and description of the place are almost certainly before it first opened some years before and are misleading.

Property was tired and cold. The heating was inadequate. We had to ask for extra radiators. It was not spacious. We paid about £100.00 per night and if we had know the area a bit better, could have had 4* accommodation with breakfast and dinner for the same price. This place was totally outclassed by everything else we saw/dined in etc. We were told breakfast wasn't available, but we couldn't even have a bbq. No one seemed to know that I had booked for two of us (Ihad to phone), nor did they know what room we were in. I definitely would not stay again.
