Perfect family getaway.

We loved everything about cowslip, it had everything you could possibly need for a weeks holiday. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of seating too. As for the location we couldn’t have asked for better close enough to Bamburgh that you could see the castle , but in a quiet area that allowed us to enjoy the amazing evening skies.

Wonderful holiday in a beautiful part of the country

Great location. Cowslip is right at the end with great views. Incredibly quiet location. You can access footpaths near the property to walk into Bamburgh.

Beds mattresses were uncomfortable. Thermostat on shower was stuck in very hot so we couldn’t use, but we reported this so hopefully will be fixed.

Not an accessible property

The location.

It was sold to us as accessible. On arrival there was a deep step to gain entry. The living area was large and airy. The bedroom however was too narrow to get a wheelchair round the bed to get to the shower room and toilet. There were no handles to enable safe transfer. The transfer aid was not able to get safely to the toilet as it had to be turned to face the toilet in a room which was too narrow. We had to have the shower door removed so we could get the shower chair into the shower nevermind the user! (He is barely 11stone! ) The whole experience of going to the loo and bed was very stressful and ruined the holiday for us and the other guests.

Lovely spot and location - great for Beach walks and some R&R

Lovely location and very peaceful. Beautiful views. Well equipped and nice touch re welcome items ie Coffee, Tea and dishwasher tablets etc Not sure if this is standard or we just got lucky! Towels and bedding good quality and comfortable. We all slept well! Lovely views from all the rooms and a warm place which was cosy after a dog walk along Bamburgh beach. Constant Hot water was fab too. Kids room was really cute and a great way to make the place a 4 adult / 4 child occupancy.

To elevate the stay it’s in need of a little TLC. A few things need securing like the curtains pole in the second bedroom and toilet seat in the main room and abit more space for coats as they don’t fit in the utility as the cupboard is already full. Not a lot of storage for a longer stay. Cushions could do with a clean and just have a bit of a spring clean/update. I don’t think the cleaners are noticing everything. Also could do with getting into the property at say 4pm not 5pm.

A wonderful place to catch up with family.

Cowslip is a fantastically located, well furnished, and well presented lodge. We cooked lovely meals and enjoyed spending time in the family areas during our stay. The attention to detail with the decor and furniture choices doesn’t go unnoticed. The bottle of wine, and biscuits upon arrival is a nice touch! A fabulous base to explore the beaches and castle from!

Beautiful lodge with amazing view of the castle

The lodge was modern and beautifully appointed. It had everything we needed and the setting was fantastic.A lovely quiet peaceful getaway Really enjoyed our stay amd not far to walk to Bamburgh if you wanted to Would love to return!

Looked at prices for the same time next year and they had doubled !!! Can’t understand why. We wouldn’t go if it was double the price as it really wouldn’t be value for money.

Good Lodge in a Fab location

Location fab with good views of Bamburgh Castle, really nice lodge which is well equipped, quiet spot just out of 'town'

Cleaners still finishing up on arrival at 16:30; oven needs a good clean including grill tray and wire racks; shower needs a toiletries rack/stand; light needed at side of lodge leading from car parking to back door. Other than those small issues we didn't like leaving!!!!

Excellent value for money in a lovely location

Location was fantastic with a lovely view of Bamburgh Castle to the rear. Rooms were spacious and well presented. The central living room/Kitchen was a brilliant space for a family. The close proximity (1 mile) to Bamburgh was perfect for taking the dog out on walks along the beach

We were not aware prior to arriving that 3 of the lodges around us were still being built. This was a little disappointing but did not detract from the break as we were generally out during the day when the building works were on going.

Fabulous

Clean, light and airy, welcome pack of drinks supplied. Well fitted kitchen with modern appliances. Bedrooms comfortable and bathrooms clean.

Only complaint was the access to the property. No one on site on arrival, despite updating our arrival time online a few days before departure. No information on how to access property or instructions sent on how to get in the property. Telephoned the contact number twice but due to it being sited in an old quarry, mobile signal very poor, and line kept dropping out. PIN number on Booking. Com website was not correct and did not work. Thankfully a workman was on site to assist. Once inside the property all was fantastic and as discribed
