Taylors rest was superb!

This chalet was wonderful. Very comfortable and nicely furnished. The kitchen had all the necessary equipment for cooking our own meals. There was a generous basket with breakfast items, chips, cookies and milk, juice and cheese in the frig. The bathroom was large and well appointed for seniors/handicapped (although we didn't need this). The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable (if you like a semi-firm). The windows open for fresh air at night. There was plenty of room to hang/put away clothes. There were books and publications with regional information. We had a wonderful stay!

Plastic tea kettle. Given all the toxic chemicals that leach from plastic into food and water (especially when it is heated) we couldn't use this kettle. The microwave worked just fine for heating water. Needs blackout curtains/shades in the bedrooms for summer.

Great chalet close to Kirkwall

Getting to the chalet we were surprised by the size and the comfort. It has a very modern interior. Every bedroom even has a little sink and a big TV. It was very nice of the host to provide a welcome package with nice food. The bathroom is spacious and offers facilities for handicapped people. It was quiet.

These are just little things: The shower curtain is somewhat short. So when you take a shower quite a bit of water goes outside. Being not experienced with different designs of door locks we found out thanks to our friend to lift the door handle when turning the key to be able to lock the door.

Amazing house, great location…. Stop looking and book it.

Very close to the city of Kirkwall while feeling amazingly remote(with all the comforts of city living) This is an amazing house in a great location. The hot tub was great after scuba diving at Scapa Flow. The owners were communicative and left us all sorts of welcome goodies. Beds are comfortable, Wi-Fi was good, shower is AMAZING, and the whole place smelled so fresh and clean. We travel a lot and this was one of the best stays we have ever had. If the house is open for booking, just book it, you will not regret it!

I just want to be clear that we loved this stay. There is no clothes dryer but there is a clothesline and the wind is enough to get things dry quickly. This isn’t really a negative but I had been curious if there was a dryer but kinda glad there wasn’t as our clothes smell amazing after being out in the sun and wind.

It was an unforgettable experience in more ways than one!

It was a self catering cottage so we provided our own food. There was a substantial welcome pack on our arrival which was appreciated. Very well positioned to visit local hotspots such as Italian Chapel, Skara Brae, Ness of Brodgar. Also very close to Kirkwall Airport where we took the plane to a neighbouring island where I used to live.

Since it was a new build property there were a few snagging problems with the property chiefly with regard to the locks on the outside doors and bathroom door. All I can say is do not lock the bathroom door - you might be there for some time before being rescued! Double bedroom very spacious but single rooms quite compact. Hot tub facilities were available but not easily accessible with people of limited mobility. Could have benefited from handrails to assist folk in and out of the hot tub.

A fantastic few nights in a gorgeous house! Wish we could have stayed longer :)

Just wow! Decorated and furnished to an exceptional standard with all the mod cons! The hot tub is next level - huge and jets everywhere that can be adjusted for comfort Beds were comfy and all had blankets too There were games and books in the house for all ages Wi-Fi was good and even had the teenagers’ approval! The welcome pack was fabulous

Perfect stay at the Orkneys with perfect 10 score

I almost never give a perfect score, but in this case, I feel I have to. Everything was perfect. We got a personal and warm welcome from the host. They provided a welcome package with snacks, drinks and local food. The chalet is in fact a small house and is brand new. very nice and cosy and well equipped. 3 large bedrooms, a great bathroom with best shower I have ever had. There is an open garden with a jacuzzi for 4 persons and BBQ hut will soon be available. great location to explore the ornkneys and kirkwall. highly recommended.

A clean, well-maintained, modern home, with easy access to everything Orkney has to offer.

The hot tub was just amazing after a full day walking. The cottage was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed.

The kitchen could do with being a little bit bigger, but that's being quite picky. For someone who isn't on the skinny side, there's not a lot of room, when you're using the toilet.

Great communication from the hosts who had gone the extra mile to make the guests welcome. Lovely peaceful place that is drivable from the town centre.

The bedroom doors get caught in the carpet and can be difficult for small children or the elderly. Perhaps that can be adjusted and would take away the only and minor point to address in such a lovely place.

only criticism was lack of screening around the hot tub luckily the other bungalow was empty or I think we would not have been so inclined to use the hot tub also more screening would possibly keep the area warmer as the wind chill factor was a concern.
