Remodeled Sanderling Sea Cottages, Unit 4

Check-in was great; just a coded entry. The location is stunning, the beach is right outside the door, less than a one-minute walk and your feet is in the water. We had a great view of incredible sunsets. The unit is spacious with nice bathrooms and extra blankets. We had a number of concerns and the staff on site were incredibly responsive to what they were able to do something about. There is an in-unit laundry set up and the fiber optic wifi was strong (we were there for a work retreat and had no issues).

Everything that glitters isn't gold--we fell in love with the pictures of this place, and it is as photographed, but there were several issues that made us regret staying here. 1. Flies--they were everywhere within the unit and we couldn't figure out how to get rid of them. They were there before we even ate anything. Our guess was that it was from an overflowing septic unit, which is so gross to think about. 2. Cleanliness--The floors were incredibly grimy, there were handprints all over the glass windows. The dishes that were put away were not clean. 3. Maintenance--The sliding door to the beach was broken when we got there. One of our guests had a severe allergic reaction to the AC unit, which we are thinking has not been cleaned for a while. 4. Noise--This is a bottom unit and the top unit echoes. Quiet hours end at 7:00am, which is early and we had a drumming group above us that woke us up in the morning and kept us up at night :(
