The house is very comfortable. We enjoyed many hours playing games in the living room. The beach is really just right out the front door. Even though it rained almost continuously while we were there we still enjoyed many walks on the beach.

Rustic Retreat is exactly as advertised. The location right by the beach is exactly what we wanted. The yard gives some privacy but is just just a few steps from the sand. We enjoyed the view from the living room windows, the deck, and the yard. I loved having a fire ring. Yachats is a short drive if you want to go out to eat.Rabbits graze in the yard. We watched a pair of eagles each day in a tree beyond the neighbor's house. Binoculars were provided.The history of the house and information given about it is interesting.This would easily be a five star review if not for mice in the house. We saw one dropping on the kitchen counter the first evening. So I looked in the cabinet under the sink and droppings were all around there. We do not leave food or crumbs uncovered but they eat through baggies. We saw Mr. mouse scurrying around the living room and kitchen floor the second and third nights. It is unnerving because they startle you. And of course, they are just nasty.If the mouse problem is fixed we would love to go back.
