Soalheira Douro House

Great house with all facilities, space you need. Comfortable bedrooms, all equipped with airco. Good showers. Nice kitchen. Plenty of space outside and great views. Very private. Good location for starting Roadtrips.

No airco in living room. The outside area and pool were not clean. When I arrived the pool robot was still cleaning the bottom. I had to use the equipment to take floating dirt and flies out. Obviously not ready yet, too early in the season. Although you would expect differently in June. The BBQ was full of ashes, and the tools and grill were not clean. I used my own.

This really is a wonderful house in a wonderful location. It is very clean and very comfortable. It is well equipped, everything you need is provided. There is air conditioning in 2 of the bedrooms which works really well and is quiet. There was plenty hot water and the shower pressure really good. The WiFi worked well for us, if you position the router on the kitchen table, it works in the house and outside at the front of the house. There are lots of places to sit outside, in sunshine and in the shade. The views are phenomenal. The pool was great. The barbecue area is great too, outside fridge, sink, crockery, glasses etc. (Tip: Stock up at the supermarket before you reach Douro valley.) Paula is a lovely host, she was very nice and obliging. The cafe she runs is a 15 minute walk away.

It was all fabulous. Some nights we were woken by dogs barking, but it's rural Portugal, only to be expected.

A casa aparenta ter boas condições exteriores, com boas áreas interiores e exteriores. Confortáveis sofás interiores. Boa localização para passar umas férias relaxantes ou em grupo. Possui uma piscina de água salgada e barbecue. A cozinha disponibilizou bons utensílios.

Logo à entrada, à esquerda do pátio existia um banco partido (ou para reparação). A casa não tinha WiFi, pelo que foi entregue um Hotspot da NOS (remendo) pela dona da casa e que não oferecia cobertura, tanto dentro como fora do edifício. Existiu pouca privacidade e constante vigilância pela dona da casa. As camas e almofadas não eram confortáveis. O ar condicionado não é propriamente uma comodidade, visto que apenas existia em dois quartos. Uma das cabines da casa de banho vertia água para o chão, pelo que a esfregona passou lá o tempo todo. Infestação de formigas no pátio.
