The Studio

Everything was clean and cozy me and my partner actually said how we'd live there if we could because it was so welcoming and everything we needed was available to us. Location is excellent and parking was easy. Would recommend it to anyone, we plan to come back next year and would probably choose the same place if its available. A big thankyou for the host who made our trip one of our favourites.

The water pressure on the shower was a bit naff but honestly a small price to pay for everything else being so perfect!

If been picky, slight smell to room, maybe due to windows and doors closed up during the heat wave we had in previous days.

The property inside was beautifully decorated with an extremely comfy sofa and chairs to sit on. Comfy two chairs next to the dining table in the bay window which was great for chilling and being nosey looking out of the window over to the playing fields. Regularly walked our dog around the track on the park and was very smooth for my mobility scooter. Plenty of benches to sit and chill out on. Location was amazing with a lot of shops, cafe's and restaurants on the next street. A good large t.v and kitchen with everything you needed for a self catering short stay. Large fridge with ice compartment and a dishwasher a bonus. A very clean apartment and it wasn't dated in any way, a lovely place with the added bonus of it being in the shade most of the day. Only had to close the blinds for around four hours a day as we stay inside alot due to the extreme heat (No fan was provided as stated but fortunately we had brought our own).

Took us a good half an hour to find the gate with the lock box to get the keys to the apartment. There were many steps leading down to the parking area and where you entered the back of the apartment which is not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties and this needs be highlighted in the property entrance description. Shower pressure was low but most electric showers are so that was to be excepted. People coming and going let the entrance door to the building slam shut which became very annoying as we were right next to it (no consideration from people which we thought was very rude). Parking was a nightmare, no sooner than someone left the parking spot someone else jumped in so you had to be really quick if you found an empty space! Stated no charge for dogs but we had to pay £20, this info needs updating as it's misleading. The kitchen mat was very dangerous as it kept moving when you walked on it and even though it had some kind of material backing on the back it wasn't non slip (needs a proper mat with rubber non slip on the back). Due to me having difficulties walking it was a trip hazard so had to roll it up and place in the cupboard. Could really do with a better quality non stick frying pan as food stuck to it really easy. A long runner rug lay along the end of the bed, although it looked nice, that also became a trip hazard so rolled that up to and placed under the dresser. One of the corners of the mat had slightly curled up where other people had also tripped up. (Apologies, I think we forgot to lay them both back down before we left). My Husband and I loved the bedroom area however, the mattress on the bed was really really hard and both of us woke with back ache every morning and both had to take pain killers to start the day 😕.

Location is great but Windermere is so small that anywhere you stay within the town wouldn't be far anyway. It was easy enough to find with the instructions. The whole studio could do with a makeover, a deep clean and some love. It felt dated and not as cosy as it could be.

I booked this studio with the idea of having a cosy relaxing holiday in a dream location - instead it was a very lacklustre experience. I seem to have the same comments as previous guests so this is clearly nothing new. There's a strange smell greeting you every time you enter, damp air and a little loud humidifier trying to fix whatever's wrong. I was freezing on my first night as only the little portable heater would work, fine for the rest of my stay when the normal heating kicked in. There's a shower curtain rather than the doors that have broken off - didn't keep water out very well. Bathroom fan doesn't seem to work at all. Shower water pressure is criminal. You can imagine how wet it gets. Also lacking hand soap, only shower gel instead. Kitchen could use paper towels and cooking oil, new utensils and more mugs. The TV is very temperamental and slow. There's candle holders, yet no candles or a lighter. Little details like that really make a change.
