A lovely, quirky little house with lots of character. Efficient and friendly service. The property was private and very quiet, in a nice area. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. The beach is only around a 5-minute drive away, and there is a Waitrose nearby. The steep road up to the property wasn’t an issue for us. Cute bathroom and the whole house felt homely and nicely decorated. The bedroom upstairs was nice and double sofa bed was okay. We did enjoy our stay overall, despite the problems with the sleeping arrangements

The biggest issue was the lack of a suitable bed for all four of us. The property was advertised as having five beds, so we assumed it would be suitable for a family of four. I also double-checked that there was an extra bed because our two teenage children would not want to share. Unfortunately, the additional bed was an extremely uncomfortable single futon that was not suitable for sleeping on. It sloped down at both ends and had sharp ridges at various points along its length. I could not expect either of my children to sleep on it, so I ended up sleeping on it myself while one of the children shared the upstairs bed with their dad. As a result, I had a sleepless night on the futon, next to the fridge, with various flashing lights in the room (I think from a modem), and woke up with a painful back. It wasn’t an ideal start to our holiday, particularly as we were travelling abroad afterwards. The extra bedding was stored inside chests and wasn’t folded, and I couldn’t work out which bedding was intended for the futon. The double sofa bed was okay, but the sofa itself was a bit smelly, which is where one of my children slept. The fridge was quite dirty inside but that didn’t really bother us.
