The worst experience

The worst experience ever. When we arrived there appeared problems with check in as the system didn't work properly. There was nobody available to solve the issue and we were left outside late in the evening in the freezing weather. All our attempts to get in touch with the administration of the hotel were in vain , they didn't answer any call ( we tried all the given phone numbers even from local telephone numbers ) or e-mails. The only person inside the building was the maid cleaning the rooms . After a long dispute she finally agreed to call someone, supposedly the manager who again didn't give any solution. I want to mentopn the fact that we have already paid for the room and actually they were and are responsible for our stay. It is winter and the administration didn't care that we could stay outside for the whole night. If not for the helpful guests of the hotel who made the check in from their devices our case would remain unsolved. What concerns Booking being the holder of Genius level 3 I wonder why noone had answered our message. I assume that i should have a priority in customer service for the matters of this kind. Never had I encountered such a disrespectful attitude from any hotel in any country. If there is a technical problem there MUST be someone responsible for its solution. This hotel management ruined our holidays, made us stressed for hours and we got ill because of catching cold. I cannot imagine what can compensate this.

Great value for money

It is very clean and all you need is there. The owner is very helpful and friendly. There is a nice atmosphere.

It is located just next to the fair which is 30mn walking distance from the train station. However there are many busses in the area.

Clean and reasonable equipped basic hotel with a 10+ owner always looking to help.

Kitchen, bathroom and washing machine were all convenient and clean. Markus was a star performer as owner, always available and willing to make your stay comfortable. Pre-booked parking was very useful.

Bed was rather uncomfortable and extremely noisy every time you moved. A kettle in the kitchen would be helpful. Some hanging facilities in the room would also be appreciated. Booking a Rustica room on the top floor was an effort with cases, but Markus would have helped if needed.

Good for a budget trip

The room is very spacious. There are lots of shower rooms so there is no need to wait for others. The apartment has good environment and there are Migros and Denner on the same street

The bed is too soft…Kitchen and bathroom are not cleaned every day. Walls are not soundproof so you can hear people walking during night

Great stay in st. Gallen

Great host, who goes out of his way to make sure the guest is comfortable.The accommodation is not far from the centre and the train station and there is a bus stop nearby. Large and comfortable room. Bathroom was always clean and ready, I have never had to wait for it to be empty. Shared kitchen with all the supplies. I would love to stay here again.

A warm welcome in St Gallen

The accommodation was clean, cozy and had everything we needed. The owner, Markus, and his staff went above and beyond what is usual to make sure we had a wonderful stay. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We stayed a week to attend the Euros 25 Wales games in St Gallen, and also to explore the town and the area. Markus was very helpful in suggesting local attractions and interesting places to visit and enhanced our holiday considerably by passing on his local knowledge. This accommodation is not the "poshest", as it has shared facilities, and you have to be prepared to walk up and down stairs as there is no lift, but this is more than made up for, with the warmth of the welcome, the high standards of cleanliness and service by the staff, and the location (an easy walk or short bus journey into St Gallen old town). It is excellent value for money. We really enjoyed our stay here and hope to return again. We are very happy to recommend it to others.

We had a pleasant stay at Simple Rooms Rustica

Simple rooms is a great place to stay, offering a great value-for-money ratio. Markus, the owner of the place, is an extremely warm and welcoming person. He makes sure the accommodation is spotlessly clean and comfy, where everyone feels at home. The building is newly renovated and offers new furniture and excellent bathroom facilities. There are also 2 kitchens with cooking facilities and a coffee vending machine. We highly recommend this place.

I had a very pleasant stay at Simple Rooms Vintage Rustica. The room was very pretty and clean - so was the bathroom and the whole Inn. Special thanks to the staff which was super nice and made sure we had a pleasant stay. Also Markus was 24/7 available and ready to help us with our inquiries. He was very friendly and wanted to make sure we had a pleasant stay. All in all a we had a very good time at the Inn and we can only recommend a stay! :)

The bathroom was great even tho it was shared. Kitchen was great and we used it often. Great place to stay in St. Gallen!

We could hear people next door closing the door to the bathroom or their room. The light outside of the room was on the whole night.

Rustica - Fair, but not recommended if you have to stay longer than 2 nights

The accomodation was clean, in general, and every shared place has been cleaned every day. The room was nearly as discribed, no more, no less, but as alway it looked a bit better on the pictures as in reality. There was the possibility to use a washing machine, but I did not use it. The city center was in walking distance and supermarkets as well.

In the third floor, where the Rustica rooms are, it is unpleasantly loud if there is minimum one more guest booked in one of the 4 available rooms. Reason for that are the extremly thin and bad isolated walls and doors. My room was next to the bathroom, thus I could hear everything happening in there. If someone was talking or discussing on the hallway (happened quite often, also at nights), it was hard to sleep even with earplugs. Further, you need to open the window to increase air quality, but then the quite busy street in front of the building did not help to provide a healthy sleep. Also the window shades in Rustica are only on the inside and do not cover the whole window, thus it gets quite bright early in the morning. To sum up, if one is only a bit light and/or noise sensitive and relies on a good proportion of sleep, I cannot recommend sleeping in Yellow Inn Rustica for a week as I did - two days might work. However, the newer rooms on the first and second floor seemed to be bit better. Nevertheless, next time I might consider another accomodation if I have to stay in St. Gallen again.

The room was a bit cold even though the radiator was set to the highest setting. As long as you don't require temps higher than 20 you should be good to go.

Great stay

The room was spacious, clean and luckily I was on the floor with just 4 bedrooms and mine was close to the shared bathroom as well. The overall place was clean and the bathroom was big as well. It was close to two bus stations and you can walk to the main stations in just 15 minutes. Very easy to check-in and check-out. Since I stayed for 4 days, I also made use of the washing machine which was very helpful. The property owner answers very quickly.

I was not aware about the shared bathroom so if thats a deal breaker for you, you might want to consider. But for me, I would still consider this on the very high-end of standards, because the toilet was super clean.

Clean and convenient - would recommend it to others.

I stayed for one night only and my check-in was quite late (around 22.30h) but the instructions I got were very clear and I got into the room very easily. Everything was very clean and convenient. Will definitely return if I need to stay overnight in St. Gallen again.

You really get something for your money and almost forget how expensive Switzrrland can be.

Absolutely stress-free, comfortable and overall just a perfectly fine accommodation for not much money but with a very friendly host. I really enjoyed the large room, bed and shower - everything was perfectly clean and inviting. Perfectly located, especially for visiting/new students at the HSG (~1km) or „Messebesucher“ (across the street). Looking forward to a longer stay!

Für meine Bedürfnisse war der Aufenthalt wunderbar.

Die Unterkunft war in Ordnung, vor allem die Nähe zur Olma halle war optimal für das Konzert am Samstag Abend. Die Innenstadt war in 10 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar, auch das war ein großer Vorteil.

Die Unterkunft war ohne Essen, leider hat die Kaffeemaschine im ersaten Stock nicht funktioniert. Als NichtMilchtrinker haben mir die Münzen nichts genutzt. Pulverkaffee war zwar vorhanden, doch das ist nicht das Wahre. Ich hatte Kaffee und Filtertüten mitgenommen, eine einfache Filterkaffee- Machine würde ihr Angbot optimieren.

grosses Zimmer, Gemeinschaftsküche und Gemeinschaftsbad sehr sauber, extrem netter Gastgeber der jederzeit erreichbar ist, toll die kostenlose Waschmaschine und Münzen für den Kaffeeautomaten. Gute Preis-Leistung.

Das Haus ist etwas älter, dadurch hat es Charme aber ist auch hellhörig. Es schadet nicht Ohropax mitzuhaben, aber das hat jeder reiseerfahrene sowie dabei :-)
