Le Suites Del Duomo Luxury

Great location in catania. Walkable to the main shopping street and piazza. Very clean and good sized rooms. The rooms were quirky and different but clean and very nice.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Catania, and the room itself is sleek, stylish and very well designed. The highlight for my wife and me was definitely the jacuzzi. After a long day of walking and shopping around Catania, being able to come back and soak in the jacuzzi was absolutely wonderful and a great way to relax our tired legs. Being in such a central location, you can naturally hear some of the lively atmosphere from the street, including Italian music drifting up into the room. We actually felt this was part of the Catania experience, and for a second-floor room in such a central location, it was completely understandable and didn’t bother us. Overall, a very enjoyable and memorable stay. Great facilities, fantastic location and a lovely place to relax after exploring Catania. Would happily stay here again.

The one thing that could be improved is the bedding. There wasn’t a proper comforter or duvet, and we essentially had a bedsheet as our cover, which wasn’t particularly comfortable. Providing a proper blanket or duvet would make the stay even better.

Location was great. Centrally located. Room was very clean and beautifully decorated.

Stairs with no elevators. The angled walls could have been a problem at night going to the bathroom. Need to be aware of the step down to get to the bed.

We arrived at the address for the hotel "Le Suites Del Duomo Luxury" on Thursday, finding only a locked door with a keypad. We received no correspondence, welcome note, instructions--nothing. So we called--"Hello, we are outside your door". We then got curt WhatsApp messages: "Can I help u?" "Your name??", followed by a video showing how to let ourselves in (there was literally NO-ONE there at reception). We were then asked to send images of our passports, which I did, from my iphone's photo files. I was scolded for accidentally including a selfie that was in the same group of photos: "I only ask u to send passports pics". The next day, Friday, we requested more coffee pods and toilet paper--there was only 3/4 of a roll to begin with, and no Kleenex (tissues) at all in the room, during allergy season. Neither the coffee nor the toilet paper arrived. We still saw no staff at the desk at any time. On the next day, Saturday, we again messaged the nameless, faceless WhatsApp number, thanking them for having the room cleaned but noting that we were now completely out of toilet paper. We were told "Hello, yes, I will give to you today". Two hours passed. Then another hour. Still no toilet paper (or coffee). The WhatsApp number replied that "my colleague is in reception...she was there at 9:10". Which is ridiculous--so there was a human being at the reception desk at 9:10 am, for a few moments at best, and we should have somehow known this, from behind the brick walls of our room? Eventually, we heard a cleaning lady working on the room across the hall, and she was kind enough to provide toilet paper and some coffee pods. Further notes on the "luxury suites" hotel: the hair dryer did not work. Even when we tried it in different outlets. There weren't enough towels. And the lack of any staff on site felt...weird and more than a little creepy, to be honest.
