Wakax Hacienda - Cenote & Boutique Hotel - Small Luxury Hotels of the World

Gorgeous property in a quiet relaxed area of the Riviera Maya. There are many different experiences within the resort itself so you can feel relaxed and busy over various days without leaving the premises.

We stayed in a large suite which was pretty and elegant but the Aircon didn’t work for such a large room so in this hot summer month it was simply too warm at night. The bathroom didn’t even have a fan and so it was u comfortable to shower etc in the jest of the bathroom area.

Very nice and special property, the lagoon is amazing! Staff super friendly and helpful! Included experiences in the hotel are a special and wonderful experience and David the tour guide is super nice, helpful and knowledgeable! Hiqh quality rooms, very comfy bed and sofa, high quality dinner.

Rooms A/C way too weak and have a hard time cooling the rooms. We had to close curtains the whole time, make sure bathroom shut and A/C on turbo to keep the room on normal temperature. Bathroom felt like a sauna constantly and not so pleasant. Also no vent on bathroom. Breakfast selection should be improved, very limited and simple options a bit disappointing for this price range. There is a lot of walking in the hotel on non friendly roads. Sometimes we got hurt or got lost.

The restaurant is good but the rate of quality/price is not good.

The property is absolutely enormous and exploring it on the free bike was a lot of fun! The lagoon was great with free activities such as paddle boarding and kayaking and the cenote was beautiful. The wildlife (pigs!) were a real highlight, there were birds, bugs and all sorts to see. The buildings and layouts felt really authentic and the room had a wow factor when we walked in. The staff were really friendly and attentive, in particular one of the waitresses noticed my partner wasn’t feeling well and went out of her way to help out which was absolutely wonderful.

As a couple without kids, there were way too many kids. I know it’s family friendly but there were almost more children than adults. Great if you have a family, less so if you want to relax! Practically, the rooms were very stark and the acoustics in the bathroom were…challenging. They were beautiful but very dark. During our stay there was a large group of kids and adults who were friends of the owners who were quite inconsiderate and loud, the staff tried their best to mitigate this which was appreciated but we felt we were a bit of an afterthought. Whilst at the main pool, I had to text reception to get a drink and then had to pay extra for someone to bring it over. Breakfast was so so.
